Question about 3* diversity: which characters to max?

I have been playing this for a while, but after maxing some 3* I moved to 4* territory, and they are all above 166, and pretty to close to max in covers 6 out of 8 (Elektra and Dino need covers)

But given the characteristics of the recent changes, i notice i need more maxed 166 to compete in this system

Considering i already have: Sentry, CMags, Hood, LThor and Hulk maxed

Which 3* would give more options my roster? I'm currently working on Loki, and maybe Cage next

Almost all (not new ones of course) of my 3* have 13 covers, so if you happen to have a more diverse roster, which ones do you use the most? which to max next?

    Assuming you are talking about PVP. A discussion on PVE would differ (Lcap for example is great for PVE, not so much for PVP). If you have Patch covered i would level him. He goes great with Hulk (Hulk bombing) and was a lot of fun powered up with he and Loki. Cage is great if have covers. I dont know if Elektra or Dino are better than some of the top end three stars. I prefer Patch (with help), Cage, Blade, Laken to the four stars other than XF and 4Thor (Maybe fury too. I dont have Charles so can't speak to him).

    check the character rankings post in the character section ( last update was Dec 2014. I think the best and most useful thread on all the forum). Obviously adjust for recent nerfs and match up with your roster. Remember to think in terms of teams and not just individual characters.

    With the recent changes with multi powered up characters for PVP i have been debating the idea if it is better to focus on one character to max level or better to spread out. If they keep the multiple powered up characters format i believe i am going to level mine in tiers. I have similar roster to you in the three land (but have XF and 4thor maxed and i most use). For example as i have patch maxed, i am going to level Loki next with Deadpool and Cmags. Then when they are done i am going to level Doom, Blade and Marvel. I may take them up in tiers also. Take a group to 125. Then next group to 125. Then go back and bring up the first group to 166. Still working on it. If they dont go with the multi PVP i will go back to focusing on maxing one character. Good luck!
