Stressful building the characters

After playing this game for nearly 1 mth, I have concluded that this is one of the most stressful games I've played because of the character builds.
I am constantly reading this forum on the character discussions to see what is the "best" or "most optimal" build for each character and I freak out when I realised I have build my characters "wrongly".

Examples of my "wrongly" built characters:

1) Punisher, now at 5/3/5. It should have been 3/5/5 I guess,
2) Modern Hawkeye, now at 5/3/5. It should have been 5/5/3?
3) OBW, now at 5/5/2. It should have been 3/5/5 and thus I am rebuilding another one, now at 0/2/3
4) 2* Mag now at 5/2/4. It should have been 3/5/5 and thus I am rebuilding another one, now at 3/1/1

My Hulk is now at 4/2/2 and I plan to go 4/4/5. Is this correct?
Patch is currently at 3/1/1 now. Not sure if 3/5/5 is the right way to go.

Just wondering, has anyone been so stressful as me on how to build these characters. I really hope the dev can give us a re-spec option soon so that I don't have to be so stressful playing this game icon_cool.gif

Anyway, any comments on my 4 points above on the character builds?

  • Maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but there is a lot of grey area with the past three 3 star characters. Hulk, Punisher and Patch don't(seem to) have any clear cut 'superior' builds like some of the other characters do. A lot of your decision process can depend on what characters you want to use in conjunction with them.
  • haha i feel the same as you... quite stressful need wake up early in the morning to start grind the point that has been reset straight away before event end... but for some reason it still keep me going xD

Yea, grey area. The only ones that the op said that were bad were prob the magneto (see: not a big deal) and the obw (many ppl got screwed over with the fact that she had 2 colors for a long time.

Side note on the ambiguity. I was choosing between 5/3/5 and 4/4/5 for patch but now I am considering both 4/5/4 and 5/4/4 as well lol..so basically all of them except 5/3/3 and 3/5/5 (in part cuz I have 4 in green/yellow already and a green and red in the wing).

It will be better once they finally push thier add cover/remove cover system.

A build isn't wrong if you enjoy playing it.

Punisher 5 green matters if you aren't playing with another strike tile generator. But if you have wolvie generating strikes and you use punisher for cheap AoE then 5 black is good because you get attack tiles quicker to leverage the strikes.

Think of how say patch and punisher would synergise best.

This is part of why the nerfs and buffs are coming around...poor character design. There should never BE a wrong.build...but the devs built many of thier early characters with powers that were so under/overwhelming that the build were basically created for you. Thor with points in.green vs. Red/yellow wasn't about fun..it was just a bad Choice. That's the devs fault for building the green too weak. Skills where skills 3-4 meant nothing made builds of 4/4/5 in a theoretical character pointless...character development issues like that. Also, skills that penalize you for improving them. I don't particularly want to raise ** magneto past 4 on red or 3 on blue due to the ap drawbacks of each...that should never be an issue and is improper design philosophy.

That said, LACKING a clear cut build is what causes more stress for most probably. That and worrying about the effects of buffs and nerfs. Imagine the irritation of someone that bought hp with $ and spent 25000 hp for a max xforce to.find out that thier build wasnt what they wanted now due to a buff...or winning 2 xforce on the same day and having a 4/3/3 and not knowing where to put them before the changes come in.
