Don't nerf Thor and Wolverine before Respecs!
It's fine if you want to mess with character balance, but **** if EVERYONE doesn't have a maxed Thor and Wolverine -- they are the most used team in almost any competition. It took something like 160,000 points and hours and hours of time to max them out, and now Wolverine has five points in a lackluster yellow ability and Thor only has 3 in what looks like a powerful green. Now I've got to find another 13 specific covers for them, and level them all over again? And it's not just me -- EVERYONE plays Wolverine and Thor. And almost everyone runs 5/3/5 Wolvie and 5/5/3 Thor, which are almost certainly suboptimal post-patch.
I literally cannot think of a game that demands you invest so much time and effort into building your hero and does not offer respecs when balance patches hit. It is insulting to your players to play the nerf/buff game while they're making irrevocable investments in skills you may decide should be much weaker. Remember, Thor and Wolverine being overpowered was YOUR mistake. Fix it if you want, but you need to pay attention to all the people who have been making their leveling decisions based on the mistakes you made. A game like this needs players to grow attached to their account -- I have no reason to care about my account if it turns out that I've retroactively making the wrong decisions all along on my main characters.
I will be through playing this game once the nerf goes through, and I encourage everyone to do the same if there isn't a method to rebuild by then. Don't support a company that's willing to screw the vast majority of their playerbase like that.

Totally agree, free respec option is A MUST!!!!! (maybe free for 1 per character)0

I agree with this as well. Wolverine is my most powerful character and nerfing him is going to hamper my ability to compete in this game. Some compensation is needed if they do this.0

Yup. Rage about a feature that's being designed but not here yet as if it's not even being considered. That's plausible.
Dude, they're working on it. We knew this adjustment was coming. I held back on spending anything on Thor and Wolverine until I knew how they'd be changed.
The respec is in the pipeline, in the mean time just chill and either use your "hideously broken and unplayable" characters or just use someone else.0 -

If it is in the pipeline, then it is simply irresponsible for them to make major balance changes before it's ready. In a game like League of Legends, they can nerf a hero because it is easy for a player to have a large stable of heroes, and each hero is instantly playable on purchase with no further investment necessary. In a game like this, you have to invest many, many tournaments worth of ISO into any hero to make them worth playing - tons of time and interest. In literally any other game I can think of that requires you to level up your characters over many sessions of play, a respec system is in place and free respecs are given when balance changes are made, so a character built over many hours isn't suddenly much different than intended. It is one of the things that makes a player care about the progression that they're making in a game like this - feeling like your decisions mattered and your time invested gets you what you wanted.
You can disagree with me if you like, but a company that treats players like this is just not a company I'm going to support.
e: and by the way, don't misquote me. I did not once use the words "hideously broken and unplayable."0
