long-term PVP team

So I'm in the position now to start a PVP team that will be played exclusively in PVP/Big enchilada outside of essentials. My LThor is at 3/3/3 (currently at 94) and I can throw an extra cover on here or there or I can wait for the DDQ rotations. I'm not sure what direction to go to pair with him. My guess is I should go with Loki, Hood or Doom - they all have some covers and some levels:

78 Doom 3/1/2 (rainbow coverage, lots of offense and health, although somewhat slow)
78 Loki 4/-/1 (great support character, provides ap, board shake, and utility for strike/protect generators)
66 Hood 3/2/- (great support character, provides ap and a minimally useful black - yellow would rarely get used)

I also have several other options - either moderate characters with several covers, or good characters with minimal covers:

102 Daredevil 3/2/3 (marginal character - my first *** with several covers. fun, but inconsistent)
94 Punisher 4/3/- (very little experience with him. no idea if he would be worth it)
91 Grocket 3/1/4 (can be health pack friendly but marginal offense)
66 Storm 2/1/4 (meh)
63 Torch 2/-/2 (color overlaps and no health)
55 Deadpool 2/1/1 (fun character but not sure the best option for now)
40 Hulk 3/-/- (long-term project - only one color covered now until the ddq day comes up, then only 2)
40 Magneto 1/1/2 (no experience with him)
40 Black Panther -/2/- (just got him - need more colors)
40 Luke Cage 2/-/- (need more colors)
40 Cap 1/1/- (not sure)
40 Patch 1/1/- (would love to work on him but would take a while)
40 Blade -/1/- (not sure)
40 Iron Fist -/-/1 (not sure - no covers yet)

I really want to think long-term and just because doom/loki/hood have some levels doesn't mean they are the best, but with doom's rainbow coverage and abilities and the support characteristics of loki and hood, it seems like they are reasonable. I am willing to buy a few covers and then take the pair up together (or at least to where thor tanks hood yellow or loki green). I know patch is a top ender like thor but he would be a longer term project. I really want to start on a Daken but this is my first go at shield hopping and not doing that great, so getting him is uncertain at this point (although I would soon have 3 covers on him if I can hang on to top 100 with the PVP award, gauntlet award, and an upcoming ddq). I really want to start a long-term goal but if the absolute best team I have is Hulk/Patch, its gonna be a long-term project. It would be nice to get there faster but I also don't want to waste iso on marginal characters. I plan on taking most everyone up to ~100 after I get my pvp team up and running and then taking select characters higher as it makes sense.

If any of my analysis up there is off please let me know - I'm only at day 117, so I value the opinions of everyone on here. Just trying to figure it out. What do you guys think? Who do I pair with Thor and what is my priority after that?

Thanks.

I'd say Loki is your best pairing with LThor, simply because the AP steal is huge with Thor's high casting costs and while The Hood does the same Loki's complimentary abilities suit Thor better. Board shake can be life saving when the board turns against you and while Loki's black ability is situational it can be extremely useful against Cage, Daken, Patch, etc..., Hood's yellow is a great ability as a finisher...but with Thor your yellow is tied up and his black deals damage, but its utility is wasted unless your feature character feeds it (and that will be less often than you see strike/protect tiles to utilize Loki's black).

I would definitely work on The Hood immediately after you finish Thor and Loki though, as he's a great partner to almost anyone and having him and Loki will save healthpacks as you can swap them for each other.

I think cletus has given you good advice. People are starting to come around to the idea that Loki might actually be better than Hood. I don't have five green in Loki yet (just three), so I'm still running 3* Thor with Hood most of the time. But one more green and I'll probably switch over. In the simulator I use both.

Doom does make a rainbow with Thor. But they don't really work together especially well. They both have board shakeup, but not in any complementary way; they're fueling their own abilities, not each other's. You don't often see Doom in PvP, and when you do he's usually there to fuel someone else's black.
