New game type: Boss Fight
Piggybacking off of ToxicAdam's "endless mode" thread, I'd absolutely love to have a boss-fight game type.
I envision it as an event with brackets of variable size, say anywhere from 200-1,000 players. (I suppose it would even work as an unbracketed event.) This entire bracket would then commence battling one of Marvel's super-powerful enemies -- e.g., Apocalypse, Galactus -- who will function as a raid boss. The Boss will have an immense health pool, something into the tens of millions of HP, depending on bracket size and event length.
The boss will have abilities that guarantee the boss will eventually win any given match -- say something like Hulk's Anger, but with a damage-dealing component, and which will still proc while the boss is stunned -- but also takes long enough to ramp up that the player has some fun wracking up some huge damage numbers in the meantime, whittling away the boss' massive health pool.
For added variety, the boss can have/spawn minions. As with all minions, they'd spawn countdown and/or other special tiles (e.g., protect, strike, etc.), perhaps including countdown tiles that will break stuns when they proc.
Progression rewards can be awarded for taking out minions (e.g., rewards for every 25 minions taken out), doing X amount of damage to the boss, etc.
As an added twist/bonus, some progression rewards can be assigned bracket-wide for hitting certain benchmarks (X # of minions downed, X% of boss health depleted), with other, better rewards handed out individually. (Rewarding teamwork is all fine and good, but the MVPs deserve a little extra thanks, no?)
As with TA's endless mode suggestion, it may be best if hero health was restored to full after one's inevitable loss to the boss, though as with all events, there's a fine line to be walked between "fun to play in spurts" and "total grindfest."
And as happens with so many boss fights in so many games, the boss can "evolve" (or get pissed off) after you "down" him, refilling his health and whipping out even more devastating attacks. And if the devs really want to have fun, they can have special guest stars appear at the same time -- level 230 Adam Warlock, anyone?
Come on, guys, let's scale things up!

A few people have suggested something like this, i.e. world raid concept. It would be great.
I was thinking the boss could have 2 passive abilities. First one places a 10-turn countdown tile that cannot be destroyed and that KOs all your characters once it reaches 0. The second ability would always change blue tiles on the board to environmental tiles to prevent us from generating & stealing blue AP. But then I remembered that IM40 can generate blue AP.0
