red flags when you are attacked

So in the xavier tourney i saw a red flagged enemy 2 turns before a successful attack was flagged to me in red ( xyz attacked you ). Then in the shield simulator for the current season i got a notification that someone beat me but in the simulator level none of the nodes showed red.

So what gives? On one hand i see an attack before you flag it to me the on another i see a flagged attack but cant respond.
