Shield cooldowns

We've had them for a while, what is the general consensus?
For my part, even with the progression rewards being re-worked, It still ends up costing me about twice in shields as it
was before. It also requires a lot more planning to actually use your shields, I'd rather it would be more flexible than it is
right now.
Biggest gripe with shield cooldowns (and a lot of people), 8 hour cooldown on a 3 hour shield. Please change this ASAP, it
makes no sense and it just feels like a way to make us pay up for the next shield. You cannot use the 3 hour shield unless
it's at the end of the event, that is dumb.

For me, the issue isn't the existence of cool downs itself, but the lack of indication as to how much cool down time is remaining on your shields. If you're out of shields due to cool downs while making a push . .. ouch.0

I dislike the cooldowns a lot. I can't stand that I need to block out 3/8 hours blocks of time if I want to score well in pvp.
I don't think shield cooldowns are a good solution to the high pvp score "problem.". Because pvp events already have a set length, cooldowns effectively limit the number of shields that can be purchased per event. Why not must impose a had limit on each type (maybe 3x3hour, 3x8hour and 2x24 hour?) That would also cap the number of shield hops that people could make, but wouldn't force people to schedule their lives around the shields.
All in all, I still see the design mandate of the shield cool down system being to increase the cost of what I assume is the most common usage (a couple of shields at the of events) while also retarding the 6k+ scores that were happening pre cool down. That way the change could reduce scores without reducing revenue.0 -
Yea, I'm not a fan. I get why they did it, people scoring 6,000 points in a single event is cray cray. But the cooldown structure forces me to play around a schedule, instead of when and how I want. The simplest solution to this imo is to just place a limit on how many shields you can use per event. You can have 3 3hr shields, 2 8hr shields and 1 24hr shield per event. Solved. No one can score those insanely inflated scores, and everyone can play when it's best for them. Everyone's happy.0

You must not have upgraded to R72. The latest update tells you how long until shield cooldown is complete. Hit the shield button again and it give you the info that you are asking for.0
