Marvel comics is going through a big shakeup. Alot of major titles will be cancelled to make way for new ones. They are cancelling Fantastic Four and there's talk that they are cancelling the X-Men and maybe even kill them off and replace them with the inhumans. Seems Marvel is going through major reboot. Lots of chars in this game is going to be defunct. How is this going to affect the game. It sucks because I loved the current Marvel titles and chars.

    I know your question was asked in earnest and i apologize for not having anything useful to contribute to it. Since i didn't have a good answer, i decided to answer it the way D3 would...with something that you didn't ask for/about/don't want.

    They are canceling the series correlating to movie rights owned by Fox and not Disney/ Marvel. Fox owns the rights to FF and X-Men. It's that simple.

    The Marvel Games Universe, Marvel Comics Universe, and Marvel Cinematic Universe are related but not bound by all the same rules nor canon. It won't affect the game at all.

    Dark Reign ended some time ago, but we still get the same pve stories ad infinitum so nothing will change.

    Plus the Infinity Gauntlet and Civil War comics finished years and years ago but they're still relevant today.

    I doubt it's going to affect anything currently in-game, but there might be some new characters that could make it to the game as part of the incoming changes, since it looks like they will be destroying alternate universes and bringing popular characters from those universes into a single universe (basically copying what DC has been doing a few times since Crisis on Infinite Earths). The characters that have been added to MPQ so far are 616 characters so now the potential character pool will be expanded to the characters who will survive the event.
