The hood, worth it in a 2* roster

Hello gang, got lucky on pulls lately. Got 2 blue hood, standard and taco huzzah , plus with todays ddq I have hood at 3/4/1. Current roster is 2* thor, obw, magneto, storm, ares all maxed with daken at 90 (will be maxed by tomorrow).

Now should I throw some levels on the hood, or would it be better to level another 2* instead. Got cap america, ms marvel, torch, hawkeye and wolverine all optimally covered.

If the answer is the hood, who else should i focus on. Guide says sentry but i think that is prenerf. My sentry is 3/2/3 though.

The Hood was one of my first usable 3* characters, and he's great combined with OBW; doubling up on the AP steal lets your escalate quickly. The problem is that's really a PvE pairing. In PvP, they're not going to do much for you unless you have a decent version of the featured character AND that character is strong in at least one of the missing colors (green and red, possibly also black because The Hood's is kind of lousy, why hello, Punisher). Otherwise they're low-health easy targets.

Worth using in pve then? Or would another 2* help me more? My punisher is only 3/1/1 sadly. My blade is 2/0/2 but I thought he would eventually make a decent partner. Hood/blade/black panther is what I'd like to roll out in pve/sim. Is that a sensible goal?

Definitely worth using in PvE. The Hood is a counter against goons who generate their own AP, especially combined with Black Widow. Thor works well with Hood, too, because adding colors to the board means you're more likely to steal that color the next turn. Ares and Wolvie are also good 2* red/green users, but I like Thor more in PvE because of the board shakeup. Once you have a stronger 3* roster, you'll surely be glad you have those Hood covers!

The Hood is a must! Advice don't raise many level on Hood for now, so he doesn't tank to much. Focus on gaining some more 3* covers & join ISO

The Hood is a game changer. You should level and use him ASAP. One more Blue and two more Yellow and he will be a monster.

Don't level him up too fast though. He's squishy and will not be able to take a lot of hits, and if he's your only 3*, levelling him beyond your 2* roster will probably have a negative impact on your PvE scaling. I'd say keeping him at 90+ would be sufficient, until you have other 3* to tank for him. His blue is level-irrelevant and yellow is good enough as a finishing move.

Personally, I'd say keep hood probably below level 85 or so until you're transitioning your 3*+ roster past your 2* roster. Also, make sure you get your fifth blue cover... (I'd personally say it'd be worth stockpiling your hp to to get it, if you're not buying it).

Bought hp in the sale last night. Wasn't going to but this week I've been having great pulls, (3 from taco but 2 doc ock blech) so figured ok let's buy hp for covers. What's going to be the best bang for my buck, if say I buy 10 covers? My current 3* with at least 5 covers.

You'll get another Thor red from Deadpool sometime in this week. At just 3/3/3 Lazy Thor is better than his two-star counterpart in every way except the ability to turn yellow into green. So, depending on how much HP you're willing to spend, one Hood blue and some Thor yellow and green, yellow being the main priority. You're going to suddenly feel a lot more powerful, especially in PvP!

I do like lazy thor, he was featured my second week in the game and I got lots of covers for him. I was hoping he'd be featured again soon. He's 66 but I thought I'd never cast pistols with thors yellow, is hood that good just as an ap battery then? Since I play little thor was hoping for something a bit different, especially if im buying covers.

a couple of things. I'm only on day 111, so take this for what it's worth. LThor is THE top ranked *** in the game and third ranked character overall - only behind xforce and 4thor. Ahead of Fury, Daken, BP, etc. I know it seems redundant for now, but if you're in the game long-term you can't go wrong speeding up LThor's progress. If you get him equivalent to or slightly ahead of **Thor, then you have 2 of them and can switch out when needed and ultimately until you get a xf/4or team going, LThor is the next best option in all of the game (just for reference, IF and Cage were not in the last rankings but I doubt they surpass LThor). Hood is a great support character but, like Loki, Falcon, and other support characters, I would make sure he's not tanking any colors of my maxed **s for now.

Best off buying 5th Hood blue, and 3 of LThor yellow and green, grab the 3rd red Thor from DP Daily. I think having a 5 blue hood and a optimal 3/5/5 LThor could get you pretty far in PVP if you decided to take them both to 166, or 166 for Thor and whatever level Hood so that Thor tanks all the colors. None of your other 3*s are that great, to where you would get enough of a return on your investment, aside from possibly R&G. Leveling those 2 for PVP might affect the initial levels of your enemies in PVE and harm you when those characters are locked out of nodes in PVE.

Also, you could level the following 2*s so you have a deeper bench in PVE; ms marvel, hawkeye and wolverine.

2* cap america and torch both have better 3* versions, so while it may help (in heroics or reg PVE) to have these 2 on the bench, probably don't want to keep tossing ISO into them. When you get the 3* version of these 2, you probably won't use the 2* versions anymore, outside of heroics, or having someone to wipe with in PVE.

Leveled blade up a bit, nightstalker at 3 is nice to have for scaled up goon nodes not to mention thirst/espionage for added oomph in matching. So I'm not even using torch now, never use cap anymore (was my first fully covered 2*) he's only at 35. Been thinking of cashing in cap and torch to free roster spaces, will I regret that? I'm at 45/45.

Will see what next pve is before I buy covers. Knowing my luck yellow thor will be next progression if I buy them all hah. Scaling concerns me though. Will level cautiously.

Anytime you buy covers you have to weigh it against how annoyed you'll be if you pull it the next day! Deadpool's Daily has made me more shy about buying things, because I figure it will come up eventually. As for 2* Cap, I had him at level 15 fully covered when I sold him for the roster spot. I never considered using him even when he was buffed for the event.

You're right at that point in the transition where covers are going to start coming to you a lot faster!

Yea, I know I will get them all eventually but I have noticed some covers/characters drop more readily than others. Thor, patch, black panther and cage seem really, really rare. For me at any rate. Got 4 more days of tacos to get through first though. Fingers crossed.

Speaking of caveats for buying covers, also be sure to check the Daily Shield Supply thread to see what's coming up. I was tempted to pick up another Patch green but saw that one is coming up pretty soon for me there.

Between those, DPD, Taco Tokens, etc., I've been getting 3* covers faster than my ISO can keep up. Was very happy to get the L. Thor from DPD today. I've now got him at 2/4/4 and if they're moving on to the second row powers, that last Yellow isn't far off either.

As for Hood, I've got him fully covered, but also didn't know about keeping 3*'s under-leveled until it was too late. He's great, but very squishy.

Did thor, then on a whim decided to build up my patch a bit more. He's currently 3/2/5 using him in gauntlet, with 2* daken, my god they are hard to kill

I'd like to get the best out of patch, I've considered adding either loki/squirrel girl/daredevil to get some more use/negate enemy tiles. Is this the best use of him?

Keeping thor and patch at 94 til I build a stronger 3* roster. Is there a level sweet spot that exists re pve and scaling?
