STOP CHEATING!!

Time to stop the AI players from cheating, and don't even tell me that they aren't cheating, cause they definitely are!... Time to level out the playing field and make things fair for all of us!.

    Of all things to complain about with this game, this is literally the last thing you could possibly complain about. The AI is totally incompetent in this game. Have you never noticed when the AI gets 9 green but doesn't drop XForce on you because it is "waiting" for some other power. Then at 11 it randomly decides to attack? The only thing that makes those L300 PVE nodes manageable is the lousy AI. Don't really know what else to tell you.
  • Is it already that time of the month to rehash the AI cheats hypothesis? We've all been there when we only get cascades in trivial nodes and the cascades AI gets will lead to a massive Headbutt or Call of the Storm. I've decided that this phenomenon is due to the alignment of the Sun and the Moon and just bought the healthpacks. icon_e_biggrin.gif

    I seriously doubt the AI is "cheating." However, it would help if you could specify in which manner the AI is "cheating" because it could actually be a bug.

    OP needs to watch last month's video chat where the devs address this issue (and the answer wasn't Deadpool's Daily Quest, it was that they looked at the code to make sure there was no cheating).
  • Just confirmation bias.

    I'm sure you get nice cascades and thought "Bout time." Not even attributing it to evening the playing field.

    You mean, for example, making things fair like...

    The AI should now take the L shape match-5 instead of taking the match-4 like it is now doing
    or
    Not make a match-4 for colours it does not need but rather take the match-3 that would trigger it's biggest attack the next turn
    or
    Stop going for the team up AP at the beginning of a match when it has a weak team up loaded
    or
    Never cast a weak power over a same colour but much bigger one that the team might use later
    or
    All the other things that the AI might do that is far from optimal to get the win...please refer to this thread for more examples (viewtopic.php?f=7&t=24321)

    Get real mate...the AI only does what it is program to do which is try to make the best match possible but it also has it's weaknesses that can sometimes be exploited.

    I get it that it is frustrating when once in a while you get an awesome cascades against you which screws up you entire match because the opponent is swimming in AP but the thing is that you will also get some good ones yourself that will make tough matches a breeze.

    There is no conspiracy here, only perception clouded by anger.

    I say make goons have to match tiles. Generating 6ap between all 3 each turn, effectively meaning they got 2 matches per turn...is lame. Many times we don't even get the color we need, yet they get it each turn. PLUS, those goons that use purple CD tiles...the board ALWAYS HAS A TON OF THEM!! any time i need purple, there are none on the board. The % of drop per needed color for the goons is NOT random. Take the Hand, they need red. There are always at least a few red on the board, ok looks like random is working, but after they set CD tiles..NO RED DROP to be able to match them off. That's NOT random. Especially if you blast the blast and no red drop. Always seemed fishy to me.

    You know i always thought it would really help mthat game if you could setup move priorty when leavigna team with 1 or more of the same colors. adding strats to even your away game.

    fine:

    1- no more boosts
    2- randomly decide who goes first
    3- Ai can do the l shaped 5-match

    Is that what you meant by fair?
  • Cheat: verb. to know the rules and break them.

    While I'm sure the developers are good, I don't think they're at the stage of coding a thinking and dishonest artificial intelligence. If they were, I doubt they'd use it for a match 3 video game.

    It's not cheating, it's bad luck. Do you cheat to get a killer cascade? No. Cool your jets, take a breath and try again

    Lets see, if there are alwyas lots of purple tiles for purple countdowns then they should be easy to match out. It is when there are only like 4 green and they are counting down that life gets interesting.

    If there are no red tiles dropping then your opponent can't put out more countdowns. So its to your advantage.

    Goons are a different sort of challenge which is the whole point. The right characters like Falcon or OBW swing the battle majorly in your favour. Targetted tile destroyers like cap, or characters like GSBW and MNM who can change tile colours to create 4 in a rows also have a massive effect on the outcome. Or you can even bring MBW and stun the guy who is worrying you for 5 turns. Cheap board shakers like Storm or Juggernaught also have a role to play, and if you really feel mean use Storm's black to limit the number of tiles they have available. A couple of black applications can lock out a colour.

    I also think that a player who gets an unexpected cascade knows they didn't plan it, but without examining the code they can't know the same way that the AI didn't plan it.
  • If they had stats on everyone's win percentage, I'm sure most would be in the 90% range. Hardly cheating by the ai and if they do cheat, they don't do it very well.

    The AI is actually programmed to be really dumb on purpose. They used to have it as a smart AI, but too many people lost too consistently.

    It's a bit puzzling that they made the AI dumber so it wouldn't beat players overwhelmingly, but then they go and do stuff like making the enemy level cap at 395 and giving Ares goons that feed him green.

    Yeah, but being dumb and big means it just takes longer for you to beat. As long as you play smart you should be able to take them 90% of the time given a decent roster. I'll take big, dumb AI over smaller, smarter AI that will match5 coloured tiles instead of doing a match 4 with team-up tiles.
