Is it safe for 2* players to partake in the sale?

HP for roster slots and such?

I mean.....I am very sorry that all ya'll had your favorite / overpowered character spat upon, but the majority the game's players (I'm sure at least 90% of us) don't even own her.

I know that we are beneath your notice, but it would be nice get feedback on the sale for us "lessors."

Are these the normal sale rates? Better than normal? Worse than usual? Etc.

First, the sale seems to be the usual.

Second, 2* players got it right between the eyes with the MNMags nerf. I think they were hurt in-game more than anyone.

Third, buy at your own risk. Know that they will nerf things you love and not tell you about them. They will sell you something then change its value. They will ignore your complaints. Other than that, go for it. icon_e_smile.gif

They're normal compared to November, less than the Anniversary sale IIRC. I can't recall if I've been around for a sale other than those.

Ya thought the same thing when I read the changes. Financially 2* players didn't get hit, but wow, does that mag change feel like it's going to make the already very challenging top 100s in pvp almost impossible.
  • I think it's completely insane to spend any real money on covers. I don't see how they can possibly justify selling the ability to do something in the game for real money and then just take it away without any sort of refund.

It's safe if like throwing money in the garbage.
  • Not to pile on the OP here, but you are missing something if you think that the veterans got the worst of these nerfs.

Day 1 Vets with elite rosters have not only rolled with EVERY nerf that has come down the road, but they have thrived.

Come the nerfs on the 23rd, i'll still have enough roster diversity to place anywhere that i choose in a given event. The same can not be said for many 2* players who relied on MMN Mags as a cornerstone on their squad.

Best of luck to vets and transitioners alike in finding your next go to team.

    easy. marc

figure it this way. how long have you been playing, How long do you plan on playing. How badly are you hurting for slots.

I figure almost any good game around is worth 5 bucks per month, so if you put nothing in toss a 20 in and pick up some needed slots. BUT if your not hurting for slots i would say its up to you.

I joined back in nov 2014 and this is the same sale they had at thanksgiving (30% more) the last sale was ISO ONLY. this is the only 2nd time i can remember HP being on sale since NOV and be lucky to see it once or twice more )

i tossed 20 bucks in back in nov and my plan is up (if paying 5 per month) but since im not hurting for slots im passing (44 slots now with 1800 hp in hand - enough to buy another 3 slots if needed)

if they had a 50 buck plan for 12.500 HP i would of.
but 50 would only get me 9,100 and not worth it.

There is no need to buy HP, play daily and try to get as many progression rewards as possible then in 5 months you too can be in the middle of 3-4* transition without spending any money at all with a 48 character roster.

To everyone mentioning that 2* transitioners got nerfed THE WORST, I want to say this :

THANK YOU SO VERY VERY MUCH! lol.

In literally EVERY other thread that I have said that WE are the ones getting screwed over the worst, EVERY person that replied to me has said "it's not a big deal" or "that combo was stupid anyways" or "get better and stop crying" and etc etc etc.

MMN / cStorm / Hawkeye have ALWAYS been the only thing that could get me through ridiculously scaled Goon nodes. They are also the ONLY team that I can use on the final enchilada for the 3* covers in Deadpool's quest.

So......for real.......thank you for not being up your own butts. icon_e_biggrin.gif
  • MMags is not a strong character but generating Blue tiles on selected positions was crucial to a number of combos - not just powering up CStorm or OBW or Hawkeye or any blue power.

It's tremendously useful for ruining countdown tiles by making a 4 match or just matching blue countdowns. This nerf hasn't had enough thought go into it and the chain reaction. They're just looking at Mystique and Prof X. Poor form by the devs

I've mentioned it before in another thread, but I'll repeat it again. Mnmag, post nerf, will give you 3 selected blue tiles when you trigger polarity. It's not as good as 5 blue tiles. Agreed. But 3 select tiles CAN still trigger speedshot if you make a "L" or a "T" with existing blue tiles on board.

Mnmag/Cstorm combo is certainly harder to pull off post nerf. But a speedshot trigger is still viable. If you add AstWolf green tiles to the board, that's going to do quite a bit of damage in goon nodes.

I'd wait and see. Three tiles will still do a lot to make 5 matches and fuel Windstorm. You might be underestimating yourselves. Now that he generates redtile.png, I have some interesting ideas to try out with him. Of all the changes, there's a case to be made that he came out of this for the better. But until I actually try him out, I can't say one way or the other.

EDIT: Damn, ^this^ nerfed my post.

I don't know how the red tile generation will play out until I play test the "new" mnmag, of course. But if we go by Ldaken's blue ability to turn tiles to green, I think a 2 star team w/ AstWolf/Hawkeye/MnMag will be quite viable because if there are enough red tiles on the board already then the red tile generation could trigger a red match or two, and feed into mag's influx attack or wolf's adamantium attack. Ares and Johnny Torch are also good alternatives to Astonishing wolf.

Basically, the sky isn't falling yet even if Mnmag/Cstorm is not as viable as pre-nerf.

...........again......if people are not EXCLUSIVELY 2* players......why even comment? lol.

Back on topic though, what percentages did the Anniversary sale have?

Nerf talk aside, they're not going to be running any better sales than this one. If your in need of HP nows the time to get it.

The unintended consequences of this Magneto nerf is that it's likely going to be exponentially much more difficult to reach progression and placement awards for everyone who doesn't have X-Force and Lady Parts Thor. I am transitioning and mags/storm is my food. I got a pretty decent roster and that team is **** on defense so I live right in that niche. That team isn't going to be there for guys like me to feed on anymore. The elites are doing a lot of complaining but they don't understand the concept of this team being the plankton in the transitioning food chain. Now I'm going to have to go up against combos of Daken/Thor/Wolverine that take a lot longer to kill and are much more dangerous on defense so my food chain might just collapse leaving all the Xforce/Thoress teams to pick up all the points and all the top 100 slots. If anything I think PvP gets one hell of a lot easier for those guys now because they will have a lot less dangerous competition from below.

Buy as much as you can afford these sales don't come around often.

Also your bitterness and patronizing attitude towards the same people you are asking for advice from is quite entertaining.

If you like the game and want to support it, the sales are the time to buy. I'd like the game to continue so I dropped $20 regardless of my feelings about individual actions.
