Where are the Buff's and Counter's?

So now that the nerf shockwave has erupted I'm left with so many more questions and ideas. This whole time spent on these changes, most of which we didn't ask for or want, could have been spent on the long overdue buffs we have been promised. I would rather see the developers energy spent fixing what's broken not nerfing/changing what already worked pretty good. Don't make the great characters worse...... make the **** ones awesome! Level the playing field that's truly what "balance of power" means!
Invisible woman, Model 40, Beast and so many other nearly unuseable characters that have so much potential. When D3?
Am I the only one who would rather see powerful characters countered by new and exciting rivals? Once again this would be a win/win situation for all.
Instead of nerfing Spiderman how about introducing an unstunnable 3* Carnage or Venom?
I still believe Sentry only needed a +2AP increase to World rupture but wouldn't it have been more fun to introduce his evil Counterpart "The Void" to somehow absorb and deflect Sentry's attacks?
If charged tiles could potentially become an issue why not introduce Gambit to deliver an attack that destroys/clears all charged tiles on the board?
By doing this you show us that you care. Your not gonna take the easy, lazy and cheap route of a nerf. You can find a creative solution and introduce a badass new character into the game!
By avoiding the nerfs you regain the trust and confidence of your paying customers. Customers who would be much more inclined to purchase more covers, tokens and iso to level these heroes with no fear of unnecessary changes months down the road. I'm not saying nerf's should never happen or are bad... just that I believe there are MUCH more creative and pleasing solutions to be found if your willing

Dayraven your kinda missing the point even though you are correct.
I wasn't actually providing legit movesets/attacks or really in-depth ideas.
More just trying to make a point that everyone has a counter or unique way to be beaten.
Future Heroes and movesets could potentially work against having to nerf existing ones. My whole idea was to get creative and incorporate more synergy and countermeasures between top tier characters.
Charged tiles are very tricky but I assure you that simply dropping thorina's surge from 12 to 5 was absolutely wrong.0 -
While I am all for buffing over nerfing I don't agree with your proposed solutions. The problem is that your solution means that to counter one character you need to have a maxed out version of another character, and it becomes a giant rock/paper/scissors game. I don't think that is a good solution either.0

It wasn't a proposed solution at all.... Just some ideas to be thrown around.
It was merely a suggestion that we need WAY more variety and diversity at the top and among new heroes.
Because right now it's just Xforce and Thoress after 900 in high level pvp bud. That's not even rock paper scissors. We don't have a 3rd option. That's just a big rock and a sharp pair of scissors. Nobody else can challenge or test them even remotely close. That's just two characters dominating elite PVP that can only be beaten quickly and effectively by themselves.
Hence the need for a bigger arsenal of uniquely powerful characters as opposed to nerfing the very few we have. I never said that a characters sole purpose should be to just counter one other hero. I meant we need a variety of ways to mount offense/defense and deal with unique things like stuns, charged tiles etc. Variety is what's key to preventing stale gameplay. I'm sick of XTHOR as I use them 24/7. Doesn't mean I want them nerfed to high hell.
If you have a better solution to the recent nerfquake I'd love to hear it.0 -
here is some buffs i was thinking about that could help fix the 4* situations from another post ignore the rantKrazyKeylime wrote:4* are suppose to dominate 3* just like 3* dominate 2* like 2* dominate 1*. The only problem now is that only xforce can do it now and none of the other 4* can compete cause they were designed to be buff 3* only wolverine and and 4 thor had useful game impacting move for less then 10, thor blue stun and charge tile generation and xforce high damage and board shake. oh what star lord red.. nope try again 2 move count down timer. the only other one is the dancing dino and his damage abilities don't compare with 7 ap, if it was 5 maybe but not 7. instead of nerfing 4 thor they should of buffed 4* It took me 5 min max looking at the current state of the 4* to come up with some fixes.
fix nick fury- yellow remove the other Ap requirements, blue leave, purple reduce cost to 10, increase Health for infinity serum in blood 12000 max
fix elektra- strongest color change to black- purple cost 5 start steal 2 for 2 scale up damage 5 cover steal 3,for black auto generate 1 trap per turn. scale up damage at 3 covers can have up to 2, 5 covers can have up to 3; 2/3 current damage for trigger ie max 500-600 damage, red cost reduced to 5
Fix starlord- purple reduce cost to 7 or leave at 10 but does team damage, yellow leave or add minor protect effect on count down time, red split damage 2/3 on cast, 1/3 on tile becomes team damage
fix IW - yellow passive generate a yellow invisibility tile that grants invisiblity to her, cost 7 yellow place a shield around target ally that blocks scaling 2000( maybe more) damage max; collapse of shield deals max 500 damage to all other visible characters , blue 7ap 1 force bubble with each cover reduce by 1 max 7( maybe 9) force bubble, green 9 shatter random force bubble dealing max 450 max to all non-invisible units destroying 4 tiles around the force bubble if a another force bubble is destroyed it does the same thing; each cover destroys an additional tile around force bubbles.
Fix dino pink remove, add ravenous hunger passive offers 30%(50% @ 5 covers) for ability to retrigger for 30%(50% @ 5 covers) current damage and destroy 1 tile (each cover, max 5) every time one of his abilities has abilities is cast/triggered
fix 4 thor un-nerf
fix xforce if still op0 -
Awesome ideas for buffs. I really like elektra and starlord but they could be so much better with a few tweaks and upgrades.i definitely think you put some good thought into those let's hope to see some positive changes like that soon.
But I won't hold my breath lol.0 -
I was actually thinking about the solution lately to two problems tied to one skillset:
1) PvE is impossible in any Daken node once he gets past level 200 something. Make two green matches and he gets some blue, and instant KO.
2) All of the characters lately with passives that really make the game hard, whether it be producing non-stop strike tiles, attack tiles, protect tiles, etc. Whether it be by making a match like Daken or at the beginning of every turn like IF/LK/Blade.
The solution is pretty simple in a game of rock/paper/scissors. Introduce a hard counter. Make a new character that has their own passive ability that nullifies the passives of other characters, perhaps after getting a certain amount of AP in a color to make it fairer. At 3 covers, it prevents passives that result in attack and protect tile creation (to counter IF/LK). At 4 covers, it also prevents strike tile creation (Blade, Daken, etc.). At 5 covers, it nullifies all enemy passives in the game. Require maybe 5 AP or so to work.
Something like this is really needed in the game now to counter the fact that you can't even go into a match with a guaranteed easy win without taking tons of damage from any team. I shouldn't be afraid of a 2 star Daken with my level 166 characters because I will take 1-2k in damage from his strike tiles and his blue move. I shouldn't take 3k damage from IF. I shouldn't have to wait 6 turns to do any damage because of a Luke Cage protect tile. All of these skills that seem overpowered or annoying would suddenly seem much more reasonable. It would also solve some of the scaling problems we have with Daken and Bullseye in PvE. Obviously it would need to be done carefully since this would be an incredibly powerful skill, but I think it is something that would fit in fine with the game and really make people think harder about the teams they bring.0 -
would of been a nice power for professor x like a nullify passive ability0
-
About the charge tile issue:
Gambit: Purple power - throw charged objects. Detonate # of charge tiles for x damage
Or
Electro: static shock- green power: detonate all charge tiles for x damage per tile
About the passive special tile drops:
I fully expect to see this.
White Tiger: Black passive: put down a X damage strike tile if one does not exist
For perfect integration with IF and cage0 -
Awesome Spccrain.
That's almost exactly what I had mentioned above for gambit. Some sort of detonate/clear for X amount of dmg output per charged tiles. I think gambit would be great with incorporating charged throws/clears.0 -
I, personally, am not aware of the current location of the question mark belonging to the individuals named Buff and Counter. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.0

Am I the only one who thinks Charge tiles should be given to IM40 in place of his current Yellow?0
