D3's greatest achievement

So, it's been months since D3s wanted the vets to quit the game, because they are squatting the Top 10, and the noobs are upset, because even though they spend tons of money to buy covers and packs, they can't get to the top, and it's so unfair.

Ok, this time, at the same time, we get :

- a pre-release nerf for a new 4* character,
- a post-release nerf for a new 3* character 2 weeks after release,
- a major nerf for a Top Tier character who was one of the solutions for the crazy scaling in PvE (in which people spent tons of money),
- a terrible PvE grinding,

Congratulations D3. This time, it seems you succeeded. Most of the best names in the game are quitting. At last, you put a lot of effort in something you succeeded in.

My game is uninstalled already, and there has been instructions to kick me out of my alliance when the current PvP is ended. So the Alliance gets the rewards. I will not return, because I just want my free time back.

I'm into Marvel comics right now, but MPQ demanded so much time, I lately hardly had time to enjoy my comics.

MPQ led me to the Marvel Universe (as I was not reading comics before, was into Belgium/French comic style). That's the positive side of it.

The money I spent into this game could have bought me a wonderful collection of comics, but hey, that's life. It doesn't matter anymore either, and should not be a reason to get stuck to MPQ...

I made friends in this game, and these friends will stay my friends, as I am not leaving the chatrooms. I will keep on reading the forum for new releases, because MPQ lighlights characters I am not familiar with. And I love the aesthetics of the characters in MPQ.

I love the truce (which D3 doesn't like and would like us to abandon so we could use more shields), and the general chatrooms include many valueable members.

Now, the thank yous :

Hailmary : you made me change my point of view, and my general behaviour, and helped me open my mind,
Nonce Equitaur : for all the dedication you showed on this forum and the game,
JunebugKiller : for recruiting me lately so I could enjoy The Best Alliance where you can compete, laugh, get support... It's sad to leave the game when I was enjoying my alliance so much,
All the guys in The Best Alliance : you guys rock.
Marsupilamy : for being a good guy, a good player,
Maedhros : For his boost on a PvP when I had such a **** day at work and being a good guy to talk to,
Locked : being an outstanding player and wise person, you deserve to get known.
TheUnwiseOne : You are not conventional and people like you are fresh air,
Agent May, Fluffyhedgehog : for bringing sunshine in our day with their good mood,
Apocalypse : a dedication like no other, a real partner,
Phantron : for spending much time giving his insight about the game. I did not read everything, but enjoyed some of it,
Kusanagi : for his support for months,
Franckynight : for giving advice on comics collecting,
Shamsali : being funny with his terrible english but so lively and crazy as an MPQ "warrior",
The-destroyer : I spent good times chatting with you,
The SHIELD Alliance in the early days : you made us dream for many seasons,
X-Men : for all the points you've been giving us for months,
DjangoUnbuffed : for being different,
Jonny1Punch : this one will seem weird, but this guy has skills for organising troops and I learned a lot from him. I like to ackowledge positive aspects of people too. I heard you left the game, it's funny we left at the same time.
The artist drawing all the characters in the game : You are doing a wonderful job. I'm sure most of us like MPQ so much thanks to you.
David Moore : your patience in a very hostile environment,
Stan Lee : for creating an empire of entertainment that I can enjoy now.

Luke Cage, Iron Fist (pre-nerf), X-Force (post buff), Blade, Falcon, LDaken : I enjoyed playing with you a lot. Sadly one of you was nerfed, and my disapointment led me to quit.

At last, Hood : for being my best character ever in the game.

I may have forgotten some names, as it's late, and I'm exhausted, but you know I enjoyed meeting you. Don't hold the grudge for not writing your name here.

MPQ has been the game I would have played for the longest time in my entire life (403 days). It's sad to stop like that.

I wish I had been (and many others like me) treated like a loyal customer.

For those who feel like grinding : I sincerely wish you good luck.

We didn't exactly see eye to eye on many forum issues but I respect your opinions and you've been an outstanding alliance mate. Take care.
  • That sucks. I enjoyed interacting with you in the BCs and in the forums.

You will always be my dear friend Arktos and it was an honor to have you with me so many seasons in Sparta.

Even though I'm sure I drove you crazy with my leadership style I remember more good then bad.

Take care and I support anyone who is leaving this game after yesterday's atrocities.

You will be missed and that was very humble of you to include me in your list when I know I've been everyones favorite bad guy for too long. Sorry for any stress I caused you and thank you for being such a good player, member and coordinator of spreadsheets etc when you were with me. Also for moral support you gave me during real life struggles.

    Sincerely,
    jonny

I think maybe this is a problem a lot of players have. They think MPQ demands something of them, when it doesn't. Treat it like a game. Your decision is probably a really good thing. Good luck.

    Once bitten twice shy.

Now that I've experienced the business model of Freemium games, never again.

Nearly 24 hours without the game now. Some habits slowly disappearing.

Could read some Guardians of the Galaxy and Punisher.

And Iron Fist will soon be on my shelves...

sad to see another vet quit.

I wanted to add you in the list, but you seemed so mad at me in the last months, I did not dare.

    Thanks for your words.

Wait, wait, wait. Marsupilamy is a guy, and not a fan of mammals with pouches named Amy?

I'm surprised we haven't seen more of these posts, starting Thursday. I expect a lot of folks just quit and don't leave the message about it here.

The alliance recruitment thread seems jam-packed full of teams with holes, with almost no single players available to fill them....

I expected to sell my account back then, and made it a condition to quit or not. It did not happen.

There is no condition this time. The game is not on my phone anymore, and even if there are some reflexes to "just play the DDQ or LRs", I refrained myself from doing so.

So far I do not regret the decision. Some of my ex team mates said today that getting the covers for a new character should be far less time consuming. That's true. Getting enough Iso should take less time too.
  • You are a class act Arktos. We will miss you as a player, but your continued presence in chat will more tha make up for it. Enjoy your new hobby:-)
