Hey guys,

I play mostly PVE while trying to get the 4k 10pack of covers in PVP. It seems I've over levelled my 2* characters and scaling is now kicking my ****. I was top 25 in every event over the last 60 days, except the current one (The Hunt / Prof X) and the previous one (Simulator / GSBW) where I made Top 50, but only just...or lower for the hard simulator.

I've been trying to handle scaling by getting my 40's-70's to do all the easy nodes and sacrificing themselves to hopefully scale it back and it's kind of working but I'm still getting my **** kicked. Was hoping I could get advice on which characters to focus on and some new combo's to use.
My current main teams would be OBW/2Thor/2Wolvie or OBW/2Thor/Ares or Ares/CStorm/MNMags

My current roster looks like this:

2*
Ares 4/4/5 Lvl 94
OBW 3/5/5 Lvl 94
Torch 5/3/5 Lvl 94
Mags 3/5/5 Lvl 94
Storm 5/5/3 Lvl 94
Thor 5/5/3 Lvl 94 (Still waiting on 2 green covers to drop)
Wolverine 5/5/3 Lvl 94
Cap 3/5/5 Lvl 15 (Can level to 94)
Daken 3/5/5 Lvl 15 (Can level to 94)

3*
Thor 1/3/1 Lvl 68
Hood 1/3/0 Lvl 66
Daredevil 2/3/0 Lvl 60 (Can level to 76)
Falcon 2/1/1 Lvl 55
Storm 2/1/1 Lvl 55
Patch 1/2/1 Lvl 55
Deadpool 3/0/1 Lvl 53 (Can level to 66)
SG 2/1/0 Lvl 53
Punisher 3/0/1 Lvl 50 (Can level to 66)
GSBW 0/2/0 Lvl 50
Magneto 2/0/1 Lvl 44 (Can level to 53)
Luke Cage 2/1/0 Lvl 43 (Can level to 53)
R&G 0/2/1 Lvl 43 (Can level to 53)
Cyclops 0/1/1 Lvl 43
Loki 3/0/0 Lvl 40 (Can level to 63)
Doom 2/0/1 Lvl 40 (Can level to 53)
Iron Fist 2/0/1 Lvl 40 (Can level to 53)
Sentry 2/0/0 Lvl 40 (Can level to 50)
Gamora 1/1/1 Lvl 40 (Can level to 45)
Torch 1/1/0 Lvl 40 (Can level to 43)
Hulk 1/1/0 Lvl 40 (Can level to 43)

4*
Fury 0/0/1 Lvl 70
Star Lord 1/0/0 Lvl 70
Thor 0/0/1 Lvl 70
Xforce 0/1/0 Lvl 70

Thanks guys

    My advice to you:

    (1) Level Daken
    (2) Level Cap

I know there are a number of people who will look at (2) and say NOOOOOO -- but Cap can and will help you in DDQ. I run maxed 2* Cap/Ares/OBW in DDQ, and it's a solid, reliable team. He can also provide countdown tile control for a Stormneto team in DDQ. Daken is more useful though (he pairs very well with Wolvie), so level him first.

    With that done...

    (3) Keep plugging at DDQ and PvP/PvE.

You're probably getting your **** kicked by scaling because of community scaling, which you can't do anything about. You can tank to lower your personal scaling level.... but frankly, I don't think it's worth the effort. Do the best you can. Maxing out Daken and Cap will give you multiple options for team building. Sometimes a "normal" node that decimates Stormneto will go down like butter to Wolvie and Daken. (The former is a tough choice against burst damage opponents because they're a little squishy healthwise, whereas Wolvie and Daken can absorb a big hit and then regenerate the health back.)

You don't have enough 3* covers to start worrying about who to develop. Just gather covers as best you can. Don't level any of them over, say, 104 or so until you've got a potential 3* team with at least 9 covers each. Then you can start worrying about that. But you're a ways away from that point right now.

Thanks. I can already beat DDQ every day. I could pump iso into Daken but I'm not sure about wasting iso on Cap when getting some of the 3* characters to around 60-70 (as covers come in) would probably be more beneficial.

I'm not seeing how he benefits stormneto. His yellow is expensive and is almost likely not to be triggered before I finish the match because I wouldn't prioritise yellow. I'd use Storm's blue and Mag's red over Cap's...unless you mean I trigger red/blue on Cap and then 3 turns later I can trigger red/blue on mags/storm. Makes me think I would take a lot more unnecessary damage while waiting for the countdown tile to trigger and also risk having it paired and losing the AP. He also doesn't tank blue or purple making him useless to sustaining stormneto. He does tank red, but I only prioritise red when there's no blue or purple.
  • I agree that you should go for 2* Daken now. You dont have any 3* character that you could level high enough for it to matter. Maxed ( lvl 94 ) two-stars are even better than equal level three-stars. You have to level 3-stars to around 110 or 115 for them to be equal to 2-stars ( some smart **** will surely post the correct numbers to make me look like dumb ). After you get more 3* covers I would advice to focus on heroes who have a straight-forward damaging abilities, or can combo with one of your 2* characters. Its not worth trying to make 3* combo with another 3* until you have full covers for them ( talking about combos like Wolverine Patch with Loki etc ).

Two star captain is a decent filler as well - his red and blue are especially good in pve where you fight mobs who cant match a destroy your countdowns. Otherwise you can use him to soak up some damage in teams without a specific color. For instance in Thor / Torch / Captain - you would have Thor as the main damage / casdader with his yellow and green. Use Torch for his red ( which is better than Thors ) a his black powers and have Captain to tank enemy abilities with blue.

He benefits them as a tile neutralizer. He's not there to do any real work -- that's Stormneto's job. He's there because you're only about 3 red matches (which you'll probably wind up with just by accident fairly early in the match) away from having a placeable red tile. Also, while you're prioritizing Storm's blue, it's good to have a stun in your back pocket just in case. And, like you say, he does tank red -- so you've got the option to put him, and not Mags or Storm, in the way of an about-to-trigger countdown attack, if you have an available red match.

He's not indispensable... he's just useful.
  • The game has continued along the line of encouraging deeper rosters, and there are just some events that are going to be harder for someone with 2*'s as their mainstay. The more options you have, the more you'll be able to accomplish. The simulator is one of those events, much like the gauntlet, where a deeper roster becomes more of a necessity than a nice ideal. Having a hard time in simulator hard nodes is pretty much everyone's experience, so don't feel too badly about that. Similarly with the hunt, there are just too many nodes, scaled up to a point where you can't avoid damage, so having limited options is going to feel like what you are describing. Its not that you over leveled your 2*'s, as much as the events kinda over-leveled itself against the roster choices you have.

Keep at it, its a decently long journey. I finished my transition at around day 270 without having a decent alliance to help. DPD will only help in that regard, and now at about day 330, I looked around my roster and noted 16 fully covered characters, most of which are in their optimal build already, and several more that are close. Just do your best, and have fun getting there. Reading the forums gives you quite a leg up on the general population of the game, so you have that going for ya.

    Best of luck

PS. 2* daken is excellent, and I agree that 2* cap has his uses.
  • I would level **Daken but save your ISO rather than leveling cap. And None of your three stars are close to being ready. Not sure if this still holds true but when I was in your shoes Daken ares OBW was the best 2* team.
