MMR Question

I've never been able to really understand how MMR works, if that's even possible, so I figured I'd ask the experts here before doing anything. X-Force is my only useable 4*( 5/5/2.) Someone told me it could hurt me, MMR-wise, if I leveled him to or past level 200. I'd never heard this before, but to make sure I'm asking here if this is so?
BTW, my roster is well into 3* land, with several maxed 3*s, if that makes any difference. I remember a jump in difficulty when I moved from 2 to 3 stars, but I've never been sure if that was from the fact I'd obviously played and won more or just because of the characters I was using.
My X-Force is level 198 right now. I doubt I'll max him out anytime soon, it's so expensive I'm not sure it's worth it, but I'd still like to know. Besides the health gain the damage increase from where I am to his max seems rather small for the cost. I'd only be doing so for Defense anyway, as he's powerful enough that with two maxed 3*s I can't remember the last match I've lost on offense in PvP or PvE, but the health and maxed status I'd think would help deter some retaliations.

Sorry if this has been asked before. I searched MMR and saw a lot but nothing that hit on this specifically (part of the reason I'm skeptical of whether or not it's true.)

Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

Try searching MMR. I'm pretty sure that's what you meant.

Lol, that is what I meant, I've changed it now, unfortunately I don't see anything that says one way or the other. Anyone else know the answer?

In and of itself, it's more likely to hurt your PVE scaling than your MMR. Your MMR gets higher (usually considered bad) the more successful you are in PVP. Scaling is how high the enemy levels are in PVE, and appears to be at least partially affected by your level, though no one really knows completely how either one works.

Cool, thanks. Yeah, actually that PVE scaling was what Ivwas more worried about, I just didn't realize that and MMR were two seperate things. Good to know. I'd say then, since I'm not losing with him at level 198 then there doesn't seem to be any good reason for me to spend my ISO on him right now.
    Thanks again.
