The Hunt: Reality TV
Who would be interested in a reality tv show that films people playing MPQ: The Hunt, on their way to a top 2 overall placement?
I'd be interested in seeing their playing techniques (i.e. roster, team builds, use of health packs, boosts, TU's) and if they spend HP on health backs during the event.
I'd also like to see their sleep and work schedule, as well as their relationships with family and friends and how they juggle life inside and outside the game.
You tell me you wouldn't watch that!

You don't see the inherent drama in watching people playing a mobile app for 10 hours a day?0 -
and start.. we see someone sitting down playing the game, The game then gets a 10x combo on them hitting for 7k damage Person throws phone right into camera. end of show0

Pretty much. I guess what I am getting at is that I want to know how people are getting top placement in The Hunt for a 4* character that is argueably pretty popular without stressing themselves out and neglecting work, sleep, family.
Or maybe me having just a 2* roster with a few 3*'s on the way gives me no room to judge, but come on... The Hunt should be formatted differently ever since the change to 8hr node refreshes.
And these Dark Avenger teams scale life a mother tinykitty.0 -

like to know that as well, also like to know how to put people in brackets. Bracket im in right now 28k is only good enough for 110th. with 70K at top. Someone said theirs was 43k Top and 25K is 10th that i would be in 9th in their bracket and we have about the same rank of covers.0 -
Im in first at the moment and if you were filming me it would be really boring television. It won't last because my weekend schedule won't let me maintain that lead as the legend is right on my azz. I had a very weak work week so I was able to clear during the day while working remotely...yeah that is tough to juggle and I also play as I put my kids to sleep. And I also wake up and play prior to work...my clearing schedule worked out coincidentally. It's tough and really isn't fun. I haven't bought any health packs so you can do it without that, but for the tougher nodes definitely the boosts are used. Still three days to go and burnout is already kicking in, looks like most of my bracket isn't really grinding as I have a near 20k point lead on fifth. So reality tv...reality is you would just see a guy staring at a phone multitasking for huge chunks of hours. Really really boring.0

It'd just look like 4 hours of continous running whatever broken combo you got. You'd still only play once every 8 hours, but the last 8 hours would be a very long continous session. You don't have to boost in the first 8 hours though with the overlapping brackets it's not a bad idea to boost anyway in case you screw up somewhere because you really don't got much room for error, especially if you plan to do anything on PvP at the same time. In the final run you should run every fight boosted unless it's trivial (anything under level 100 or goons only) because you'd get set back way too much if you screw up, especially against Ares and Daken. You can probably get away with not boosting against the rest of the DAs if you're really bored.0

5 days of grinding the same nodes, and reading the same dialogues, of the same old events?
I dont think anyone would watch that more than the initial 10 minutes, in fact, i dont even imagine ppl playing that kind game for long.... oh wait, i just realized something..0 -
I finished #2 overall in my bracket (148k pts) and there's certainly nothing film worthy about it. I can give you a breakdown of how much I played and what my techniques were if you're interested.
To start with I played it pretty loosely, I didn't have a perfect rotation and left a few gaps inbetween clears (I didn't wake up at crazy times to make sure I cleared as soon as the refresh came up on the first 2-3 days.) I have a very developed roster at this point level 200 4thor and xf, about 15 or so 166s and an underleveled falcon and second hood I use for pve.
On the essential nodes I almost always used Groot(3/4/5) and Luke Cage(4/5/4) (he was an all star, complimented colors great and his protect tile meant I didn't have to waste hp on gsbw(5/3/5). I subbed in Falcon (3/5/2) for Luke cage on Goon only essentials.
On the easy nodes I used patch/ldaken/blade for everything that would allow me, and subbed groot for ldaken on the nodes that wouldn't. On the hard nodes I rotated between using patch/daken/loki early to using xf/4thor/loki later.
As for boosts and HP, I never purchased any HPs during the course of the event. I did get low a few times and it affected the amount of PVP I was able to do, but it never came down to me needing to buy a pack (I have a deep roster which helped a lot with this.)
I boosted a lot though (never +all ap) but predominately +blue/purple on the hard essentials and +g/b on the hard non essentials when I was using xf. I think the last day I spent about 3k ISO on boosts to avoid having to spend HP on health packs and speed up my clear times.
I picked shard 1 which is 9am/9pm for me and allowed me to do the final grinds before work and during primetime tv watching. any given clear only took about 20-40 minutes (the 40 minute clears were towards the end of the event during the weekend when the nodes really started to scale up. Early on I would only do an hour to an hour and a half worth of final grinds. Towards the end when I was in contention for the top slot I extended out my final clears to 3 hours (to bring all the nodes down to sub 50 points).
The last two days were really the worst of it, I was 500 points or so behind the bracket leader (Kung Phu Panda) and was hoping that he would be scaled out on the Bullseye III node which would let me catch back up. We both played the last two days nearly perfectly, and cleared everything on the dot, and did exhaustive final clears, not leaving any points on the board. He staved off my challenge and secured 1st place.
Only Saturday and Sunday were really exhausting, for most of the event I was able to maintain a healthy schedule but the end of the even required an unhealthy amount of time and I'm certainly glad it's over.0 -
As someone who also finished #2 I'm pretty sure if my future self came to me on day 1 and told me I wasn't going to finish #1, I can probably play half as much and still get top 5 since the difference between fighting for top 1 and top 5 is just incredible. I did about 2 clears on the final sub and that was good for #8 in the sub, and maybe activity have decreased in the last sub because the difference between 1/5/10 tier was too great, but still, it'd have been a very uneventful going for just top 5 at least compared to what I did to try for top 1.
I ran green/black + blue/purple boost on every fight that wasn't trivial. I ended several subs with 5 health packs so I obviously didn't need it all the time but why even risk it if you're going to commit that much time already?
We'd make better reality TV if we can film the #2 guy trying to call up aliens to kidnap the guy ahead.0
