How to fix the Hunt
The Hunt, like a lot of the older PVEs, is seriously showing its age. It's format was fine for when it debuted - and probably ideal for the Ares debut - but it's terrible for a 4* release. I realize it's too late to fix it in the current run, but it's possible to make is a good, workable PVE for long-term. And it's pretty easy.
1) Run Alaska as is for the first 36 hours. No need to change anything.
2) Run half of Florida for the next 24 hours. Unlock some of the nodes if need be to make it a "normal node"
3) Run the other half of Florida for the following 24 hours. The two Floridas can be Florida Part 1 & 2, unless you want to make one something else.
4) Run Savage Land for the final 24 hours.
That way, you have a nice, manageable PVE, with no nightmare amounts of overlapping nodes, no "ugh, this one again" sub repeats, people able to pick a single end time and not have to deal with the 12 hour offsets, and a much happier player base.

Don't get me wrong here, I 100% agree, and this would be a great way to improve this event. But if they cared about the happiness of their player base, the game would not exist in its current form at all.
But, players asked for 8 hour refreshes and we got exactly that. Deadpool's Daily Quest is a nice implementation of what Locked (IIRC) and others suggested as "daily quests." There are other examples, of course, but these are two of the most welcome changes in ages and they were suggested by players. The Devs do listen, but they're very very guarded about their development plans. And they're sometimes very slow to act.0 -
They REALLY should have switched to a 6 hour refresh. Not as nice as an 8, but MUCH more fitting to the format (36/24) so we wouldnt end up with the effective 4 hour ones.
They also should have cut down on the number of nodes in Florida. I dont mind seeing the subs twice during the event, but the Florida nodes themselves are just repetitive and were boring from the start. The only thing that makes them even remotely interesting is that Im looking at an almost 300 Ares, who does INSANE damage with Sunder so I have to be VERY careful when playing them. Wait, that isnt the definition of "interesting." Whoops.
And as said elsewhere, many many many times, they should have stuck with the same reward tiers as a 3*. I wont rehash those reasons here (and hope others dont either) but I had to mention it as those are the top 3 things I think needed to be fixed.0 -
They need to fix the bug in the hunt. Ranganok or whatever his name is can cant that God spell (what takes out the 2 middle rows for 3 green instead of 6) I been hit by this so many times its not even funny. And no the goons are not giving him more green cause he is fighting with 2 other people (no goons to give him stones)
i gave up on this before it even started. im looking for a top 150 i want the red daredevil any day over the lame 4 star0 -
The Hunt isn't even that old, it's actually one of the newer PvE's in the grand scheme of things. The issue is that there's no point having 8 hour refreshes if the subs are either overlapping or less than 24 hours long. The whole point of wanting 8hr refreshes was to give people 8 hours between having to play MPQ without incurring a points penalty for doing so.
Lets face it, if the devs all of a sudden released a PvE that comprised of 4 x 24hr subs, that didn't overlap and had a reasonable amount of nodes that didn't contain hyperscaled 2* opponents (or Goon fed ability spammers) then everyone playing the game would probably fall off their chair with suprise.0 -
I agree that running all 3 subs twice is stupid. "Hey Bullseye see this neat trick I did, ok now fall for it all over again." I would leave them in tact and run them each for 36 hours, and shorten the event to 4.5 days. Although I do like that your proposal has all nodes ending at the selected end time. Maybe shorten it to 3.5 days and do a 36/24/24.
I don't mind that Flordia is huge. The reason The Hunt is messed up is the over lapping sub times, and the double run through basically of the same content. You could also fix it by adding 2 subs of new content, have the main unlock each sub with a single node only playable after the last sub ended (like Enemy of the State). 1 36h (Alaska) and 4 24h subs. One of the new bases can be in Wakanda and feature BP as the hero running around.0 -
I think the best way to fix The Hunt is to get rid of it.0
