PvE Node: 4 battles = All node rewards

I'm currently ranked 15th overall in my PvE bracket...

Was I efficiently doing full node clears every 8 hours? No
Was I strategically grinding the nodes all out at the end of each sub? No (in fact I fall asleep at least 2 hours before the sub ends thanks to the daylight savings time change)

How am I accomplishing this wondrous feat?
I'm trying to obtain all the 500 ISO node rewards....that's it.

In the first sub I had grinded one of the nodes down to 1 point...continued to do 2 more battles on it and simply ran out of time. I never won the 250 ISO or the 500 ISO reward. In the current sub I wound up facing level 334 Pun/Sentry/Storm to 1 day and 23 hours before it finally gave me the 500 ISO reward.

Now I fully realize this is a 'waaaaahhh gimme gimme gimme' thread but I beg of you...please remove this frustrating RNG element to the PvE nodes. My little story above wasn't one that ended in a triumphant feeling of joy upon getting the rewards. It was simply an exercise of wasting my time to get a reward that wasn't even remotely worth the effort all while creating needless frustration and dissatisfaction with the game.

Let 4 clears of a node equal all the node rewards.
Clear 5+ can still be 20 ISO each if you still truly feel you'd be rewarding players too much for grinding.

  • I can't help but feel they purposefully leave it that way so that if you get a green checkmark on your 8th pass of your node it adds a little bit of psychological achievement. It feels like they're using slot machine like manipulation: pull the handle enough times and eventually you'll be a winner!

    I admit to doing the same thing with standard tokens which is 2 levels of crazy. Try to win all the 'chances' to win something else!

    Id love to see some sort of cap on how many passes it takes to collect all the rewards.

    Maybe a formula like: roundup(((sub bracket length)/(refresh time)) + X)

    Where X is 2 or 3, and the min would be 6.

    With 8 hour refresh and 24 hour subs I've had several nodes left 2/4 3/4, even when grinding 5-6x on a final clear

    Same. I just dont think that it should be the first four fights.

    Id also like a scenario where there was a 100 ISO bonus for the first node win, 70 iso for each win plus a (small) chance at a Heroic. It would take some math (and Im too lazy right now) to make it equivalent to the current pulls but there would be a larger reward for continuous grinding, plus the potential for a nice bonus 3* or 4* if you got really lucky.

    Don't forget, this is an extremely difficult event with rewards no one truly cares about...don't expect to play the same way for Professor X's release and have similar results. You're probably going to have to sacrifice most of your weekend plans, some sleep and your firstborn to place well in that event icon_e_wink.gif

    And don't forget, The Hunt features overlapping subs offset 12 hours. That means optimal play will require clearing a sub every 4 hours
