new TU's

Not had time to test this, or even see if it will happen, but with the abolishment of unusable characters being sent to Alliance members does this mean that everyone will be using Lv 270 X-F Team-Ups?

Will make it even more trivial defence teams as I can see a 3* army being obliterated by any 2* army with stored XF Team-Ups.

Do you think this scenario likely?

    Because most people would much rather have X-Force or patch or AWolvie on their team vs the teamups. Assuming you had the 270 Xforce teams up, who would you run as your team that allow you to use the TU? The thoress TU are even less of a concern because you would need 2 TU slots to effectively use her powers.

    Lets assume you had 2 Surgical strikes and a Xforce TU equipped and you had a max level BP/Iron Fist/ Featured char. I can promise that in actual play, you would be prioritizing purple, then black, then yellow tiles over TU tiles.

    highlevel TU tiles are helpful, but hardly the game changer that people think they are. Cheaper TU tiles like Window sting are much more effective in real life play.

    As Phumade suggests, its the cheap TUs that rule. Stings, Crashes, Take Aim, etc are going to rule, but WWW is nice for that must win.

    Any one played with Iron Fist of K'un-Lun as a TU yet? What other 3* TUs now make the used list?
  • I have played with IF purpleflag.png as a TU and it was quite helpful.

    There are some cases that should see increased use as TUs, but XF isn't one of them. He's going to be on your team thus preventing the use of TUs. Captain America on the other hand, while he has some use in PvE isn't a great PvP player but his TUs are excellent. Get a benefit AND convert 12 tutile.png to 10 bluetile.png or redtile.png ? Hell yes.

    Reality is you won't see any change, AI TU is chosen randomly

    As an aside to the debate, let me say that I'm a big fan of the new animations on team-up use.

    Its a tad slower, but is quite clear that its a TU being used. Sometimes before it was so fast I wasnt sure what the skill was.

    Oh, I HATE, HATE, HATE that pause and have had to hit Fight twice on a few occasions. I was referring to the in match animation where it shows the square card of the char who's TU is being used. That has flowed pretty flawlessly for me. The prematch selection....it sucks rocks hardcore. The autofill is one of the least needed "improvements" that also ended up slightly broken as Ive had it bounce the TUs/boosts Ive used on two occasions.

    If I'm not mistaken it's your level that determines the power of the TU you get. Sure I could send you my 270 X-Force, but you might only get a lvl 100 if you aren't as far progressed.

    Hate the auto equip on TU, but for some reason lik the little animation when AI uses one.

    I love the auto-equip. It's already saved me a few times when a match I thought would be easily winnable (and thus wouldn't equip boosts or TUs of my own accord) went south thanks to bad board/enemy cascades. The half-second lost in the setup screen is worth not having to redo a fight from scratch.

    agreed. really no downside. now i just have to use them, i used to hoard and always be at 19/20 saving them for when i really needed them. now they come in like rain and theyre useful now that theyre all scaled up. good stuff. icon_e_biggrin.gif

    So you shield hop without boosts?

    I tend to hop only boosting one type, sometimes carrying a TU as well. Now Ill have to make sure I have all three set up, then still deal with the split second it checks my TUs, then check myself to make sure it hasnt gotten jacked (Ive had it reset a TU) and maybe hit Fight again (had it not register). I dont think it was broken before, so why "fix" it? And it wasnt a fix....

    A downside is that the AI's TU's are now stronger. I've seen the AI casting 140-166 Team Ups rather frequently when before they'd be stuck at level 50.

    If I'm not mistaken it's your level that determines the power of the TU you get. Sure I could send you my 270 X-Force, but you might only get a lvl 100 if you aren't as far progressed.

    My understanding is the level adjustment can only go up from what you receive (either from alliance or as a trophy), not down.
  • This is not a bad thing it's actually a good thing. Imagine a 2* transition player using x-force surgical every match witch I think it's not possible because first the alliance teammates can't pick which characters ability to send they might send x-force as a tu but the player that requested it might get recovery, x-force or surgical. Second it would be nice to see a 2* team worth some good points in pvp so if a player starts seeing the wall at 500+ points now the player will see 2* teams at 500+ More points from weaker teams? Yes please! icon_e_biggrin.gif . Third if the 2* transitioner will focus on tu tiles he might get badly hurt by the AI since he his not focusing on the opponents strengths. Reason why I like ap steal tus and cheap tus.
  • I absolutely love the auto-fill on team-ups. Great addition with, imo, no downside.
