PvP What am I doing wrong?

I can't for the life of me ,place in the top 100. I look at several of my alliance mates, with lesser or equal roster, that constantly are placing between 25-100.

An average end score of mine is between 300-450. And I end up around 150th place always. Other alliance mates score less, and place higher.

I have 28 on my roster. Highest level is Deadpool at 104. Followed by Loki and Hood at level 95. CStorm, 2* Wolvie, 2* Johnny Torch, and 2* Darken, all maxed. All my other covers range from 89 down to 40. I have Elektra lvl 78, xforce 70, LThor 70, and starlord 70.

My strategy is typically use only characters under lvl 60 for PvP. It works for a while I can usually manage to hit 300-400pts with ease. But I can't hold my position .and then my battles start coming against level 166+ teams which I can't touch. The best I manage is 94/94/94 for maybe 20 points a match

What am I doing that people with equivalent rosters to mine are easily placing higher than me.

1. Most people generally use characters with good synergy together. At the 2* level, these tend to be: OBW + Ares/Thor, Wolverine + Daken, and CStorm + MNMags.

2. If you can get to a high enough score, you generally have to shield up to prevent the retaliations at the end.

What teams are you using at the end of your run? Are you able to beat any of the 166/166 teams? How about the level 120/110 teams? Getting Top 100 with a roster like yours tends to be pretty hard and often reliant on luck.

With what you have listed it will probably be pretty tough getting top 100 with consistency. A Daken Wolverine team is probably your best bet to get to the top 60 range range and hope after you shield you stay above 100. It's tough sledding up there and until your roster is deeper and more versatile, you're going to struggle. I honestly use all the extra boosts I have to make a push and I'm not all that successful in hitting top 100. Was 93rd in Fist Bump to get another Luke Cage token and was ecstatic.

It will be hard with what you have and it's very likely you're doing nothing wrong, everyone else just has a better team.

Typically in events, I Use darken/wolvie and who ever is featured.

It's just I talk to people in my alliance with equal or less roster as mine, and they manage to place constantly. And that is what puzzle me.

I guess shielding would obviously help, but I don't have a steady income of HP.

I mean in the IF that just closed , I was at 99 with 450+ points with under 3 hours left. Finished 191 with just over 350 pts.

What is an average number of points to place 100 or higher.

You're not doing anything wrong. That's just the facts of life at your roster stage. 300-400 points is pretty respectable.

Daken/Wolverine are a good climbing team, but they're not a team I would use as a "defensive" setup at the end of a climb. When I was in 2* territory, I'd always pick a Daken/Wolverine or Storm/Mags team as a matchup over an OBW/Ares team whenever possible. Ideally, in a 2* setup, you'd use Daken/Wolvie for the climb, Storm/Mags for the quick push up, then OBW/Ares at the end.

Everyone's advice here is solid, though. Your point scores aren't out of keeping with what I'd expect, given your lack of shielding.

There's no average number of points to place 100 or higher. It depends on your PvP MMR, and whether you land in a hard or soft bracket. It might also be that the other people in your alliance are drawing softer brackets than yours, for whatever reason.

PVP is a big mystery for me. 6 months ago with some 2 maxed I could reach 500-600 points and end sometimes in top 100. Then I could only reach 400-450 points before getting wall of 166+ but could no longer finish top 100.
Since last season I can only get 300 before seeing lvl 166 and I always end out of top 200. Don't know why, my max lvl chars are still lvl 94. So I just focus on pve as I can no longer hope for anything in pvp.

The 2 major events that pushed everyone in 2* levels down were:
1. Shield cooldown.
-Lowers all scores
2. Deadpool's Daily Quest.
-Less people, particularly transitioners are playing PVP hard, enough to act as fodder for the other transitioners.
