it's now a 4* economy

I would like to put forth a challenge for any 4* users to hit 1000 points using NONE of their 3* characters. I know it's possible because I've done it exactly 1 time (with many failed attempts). But I'm not sure if you may understand just how difficult it is now. And it will only get harder the more 4*s are out there. The gap is only going to continue to grow wider between the haves and the have-nots as more characters are introduced.
I also don't think obtaining a 4* is going to solve all the worlds problems. But it does make things easier when you have characters that don't need to heal as often, get you less defensive attacks, and scare off weaker opponents.
I don't know what the solution is. I don't feel they should be handed out and should be challenging to collect. But I do think they should become more obtainable for those who actually need them to continue playing.0 -

If you're going to put out this challenge, maybe think about starting a separate thread for it, so people can document their experiences if they take up your challenge. I'd probably put the following conditions on it: (1) 3* characters only up to the 1K progression reward, then a participant can go open slather with their roster above that, if they're required to post extra points for their alliance; (2) Pick events only with TGT or X-Force as the 1K progression, since that's going to better reflect what the experience is in the end.
I suspect what you're going to find is that it depends reasonably heavily on whether the featured character is present and developed in that person's roster, in terms of how easy or difficult they find it (unless they're Hulk bombing).0 -

I wouldn't mind putting this up in time for the upcoming Daredevil event if others want to participate.
I'm thinking it should be more of an on-going "community goal" that everyone can participate in. I'm not wanting this to be a "if you dare" kind of challenge. I do know it's possible, just not as easy as many may think.
Any other "rules" or guidelines? I think restricting the use of characters is enough. Use of boosts and shields should be unrestricted. And I don't think it needs to be done in a particular event. Players should be able to do this in an event they don't particularly need the rewards for so that if it doesn't work out for them, it doesn't hurt them.
Of course, it could be said that by doing this, there will be less 4*s in the field. I don't see this having enough participants to effect it.
I think it would be interesting to see the results in this. If we find not too many people make it to 1000 points, we can bring this to the attention of Demiurge and ask if it's "working as intended." From there, we'll have a definitive answer on how this game is suppose to work.
If most people have no problem achieving this, then we'll know hitting 1000 points is probably more dependent on a players skill more than their roster. Either way, it would be nice to have an answer.0 -

I think it would be a useful exercise, since there's a reasonable proportion of forumites who seem to believe that 1K with an exclusively 3* roster is impossible, or near enough to it, and having a thread they can refer to would be handy. I agree it shouldn't be an "if you dare" challenge, since we want some productive feedback.
I don't think there need to be any other guidelines.
Likewise, I don't think any change in the proportion of normally 4* players switching to 3* would be significant.0
