One cover of Sentry, Colossus, and GSBW are trash, right?

None of the five characters you have listed are of particular importance at the moment even when fully covered, and no 3* is competitive with fully leveled 2* characters with fewer than roughly ten covers (barring something unusual like an undercovered Hood with 5 blue).

However the structure of the game does reward players for hoarding even under-covered 3* through Essentials and DDQ. To that end, it may be worth considering ditching Star Lord and keeping another 3*. Unless you see yourself playing for a very long time at a high level, Star Lord is likely to remain decorative forever. Sentry will at the very least win you a couple thousand ISO every month or so, and in six months or so he may even be useful as part of a C-Team in PvE.

I would say Doc Ock is the least valuable of those listed. Even so, it may be worth the $20 to get the HP to save them.
  • If you're playing for the long haul, maybe sell off your 1* covers and take in a 3*. GSBW is **** until she is fully covered and levelled. I've been playing for almost a year and I have her at level 80. She is useless. Doc Oc is pretty **** too.

Sentry has high health, so even with one cover, he is a good replacement for a levelled up 1* character.

Colossus is the only 3* that I do not have, so I cannot comment.

I had planned on holding on to Ock and Shulk, in the hopes of the developers coming to their senses and FIXING those two. I already sold off my Beast. Oh....and I have a Rags collecting dust, too.

    By the way, it's

    Red Sentry
    Red Colossus
    Green Gray Suit Black Widow
    Yellow Starlord
    Blue Doc Ock
    Blue Blue Green Shulk
    Green Rags

    is that makes any difference.

Colossus is fringe b-tier, with Luke Cage being a better version of him, basically, but still not a bad character.

GSBW is probably c-tier/fringe b-tier. She's basically a "fun" character.

Sentry is considered by most to be c-tier after his buff, but I honestly feel he's a solid b-tier character. Lots of health, lots of damage, but he can be a health pack eater.

Doc Ock is bad. Bag-Man bad. He's only usable in PvE and even then he's only 'good' for his passive. Falcon/Daken or Captain America are superior by a long shot.

Starlord is probably worth keeping. He's not X-Force/Thorina, but he's certainly not Elektra or Invisible Woman.

At the end of the day, none of them are a heartbreaking lose, but Colossus, Sentry, or Starlord are worth thinking on.

[EDIT]: She-Hulk is pretty b-tier for PvE. Rags is getting a re-work within the next month or so - he might be worth keeping around.

I'll grant you that to be any kind of an offensive threat, GSBW needs 5 green. However, her purple can make her very useful even for a transition player with only a few covers. And as someone with a full 3* roster I still actually use her a lot in PvE, often for her purple alone.

The rest of that list is pretty iffy though. I'll go to bat for She-Hulk. She's kinda situational, but she's not as bad as everyone makes her out to be. Her red is really very good, and her blue can do work in the right situation. If only her green wasn't such a dumpster fire....oh well. Rags isn't too bad, particularly since he's likely to finally get his third power sometime this century. Even without it he's got fast powers and high cascade potential. Definitely usable. The only other character there I get decent value out of is Sentry, and only because I use him as a meatshield for Human Torch, and occasionally to throw down a Sacrifice for the greater good.

Prash is correct, sell your 1* and keep those, worst is doc and starlord for now anyway.

The only 1*s that I have are Juggs and Venom. Juggs is amazing, but I really like Venom, tooooo. His Black Bite power is good, since I don't have any other Black powers with my 2*s (Baby Torch and Baby Cap Marvel are fully covered, but not leveled, since they're the worst 2*s).

Maybe I need to let Venom go, though.

If you were going to pick up 2 of them already, I'd say do that for Colossus and Sentry and dump Venom for Starlord. All 3 make decent shields even when undercovered and they're probably the best out of that lot.

Plus with Starlord you can put him in as a shield/decoy and throw out his yellow ability to lower your AP costs if your not running a more important yellow with him (which is a nice decoy ability).
  • TLCStormz, I hope you learned your lesson icon_razz.gif

If you don't have enough HP to buy roster slots, avoid opening good tokens. Standard token are ok to open because they largely yield 1* and 2* covers. Once in a while, you may get a 3* or 4* but it is rare.

Also you have to make up your mind about playing for the long haul or for quick gain right now. Long haul means keep the 4* because they are hard to come by but a year from now, you'll be kicking **** with them. I kicked myself for chucking some 3* tokens in favour for levelled up 1* tokens that I had when I was still newish to the game... that was a mistake. Always ditch the 1*s if you don't have roster space because once you start playing PVP more competitively, you'll be raking in HP to buy more roster slots.

I wouldn't worry about keeping any of those guys, honestly. None of them are top-tier, and as others have mentioned, only one or two will be doing much for you even in the long run. If you happen to like any of the characters themselves (I have a soft spot for Colossus) then I promise you you won't miss Venom if you ditch him, which you should do before anything else. No black power is not really as much a hindrance as you imagine in 1* and 2* land. Juggy solo will get you past the first taco node just fine, and he's actually really handy to have around for when Balance of Power or Combined Arms runs. However if you are emotionally attached to Venom then consider ditching a **** 2*, like Moonstone. Whatever the case, this isn't really that tough of a decision. When I was in your position, I ended up tossing several lone 3* covers...Black Panther, even!

All 1-cover characters are pretty useless. That's not really a deciding factor.

From just a rarity stand point it makes little sense to throw away a 4* because of the difficulty to replace. 3* are a bit easier to replace now, and especially so if it's the primary color.

If it's Sentry yellow or GSBW purple, I'd be more inclined to hold onto them. (red/green are their best powers respectively, but primaries and easier to replace).
  • GSBW with max green and over level 100 is a better char then most people give her credit for. She was a support character on my team for a very long time while building other 3* chars. Once you have her at 166 with 5 green covers she does a lot of damage to all opponents. Talking in the 5k range against all opponents in one strike.
  • Tl; dr keep gsbw. She'll be the essential character in the next pve, which will probably be for a, new character.

    ****!!!!!

I timed some of this wrong. I was supposed to recruit Black Widow yesterday because she was the Deadpool essential. That would have let me reap the benefits of that, plus keep her for my next PvE essential (The Hunt). I got nervous though, and hastily recruited Sentry instead, because he was expiring in about 1 hour, so.........I blew it.

I guess I'll use him as a meat shield for another few days, then drop him for Widow when her essentials start. Then drop her after that (if I don't win additional covers for her).

    ANOTHER QUESTION :

I have like 12 tacos and 25 standards that I'm hoarding. Should I open them, in the hopes that some will be for Widow? Or just keep them, just in case they are all characters that I actually DON'T have, thus starting this cycle all over again? lol.

Thanks for all of the feedback, I really appreciate it, ya'll.

I would check this season's rotation schedule first. I THINK she's on the shelf for the next month if I'm not mistaken...Also, keep in mind that tacos can award 250 HP, so you may want to go through your tacos first to see if you can buy more roster slots. I had a lucky run with some tacos last season and added a roster slot just in time to get 4hor on my roster. I've added an additional cover for him since then.

I think this decision should be based on your goals in the game, ie.

If you wish to be competitive as quickly as possible - ditch the lot, save HP (slots) & iso for X-Force & 4hor.

If you wish to expand & build a roster - keep them all & sell some 1 & 2*'s as you can gain these back with relative ease.

I wouldn't sell Star-Lord regardless as he is a 4* (albeit not X-F or 4hor) & will be difficult to get back anytime soon.

As others have mentioned I think GSBW is due to be featured so may be worth keeping - personally think this argument applies to everyone (hence why I have a stupidly large roster - still even got Yelena & Bag-Man!)
