question about signatures

Hey, not sure where this question belongs, so feel free to move to appropriate forum.

I want a picture in my signature. Does it have to be an online link? how have others dealt with that without having their own website. Did you put it in google drive or something? Is there a way to upload it to the forum here?

    1a) You can use someone else's signature or image (if you're in the same alliance), find the image and right click on it to copy the direct link.

    1b) Or you can upload a signature of your own making to an image file hosting site, such as http://imgur.com.

    2) Once you have the direct link to the image, go to your siganture settings here ucp.php?i=profile&mode=signature and insert the link into the window. If you copy it from an image hosting, it can already have [img]tags for BB forums. If not, place them manually, like so:[/img] 
    [img]http://imagehostingsite.com/linktoyourimage.jpg[img]

    Edit: you asked about linked sigs, I'll just copy my signature code for you to get an idea of how to make your signature linked.
