I swear...

...I have the most random/strangest luck ever.

bought one of the 5-pack Full Clip, from the Punisher Tournament and pulled out three Punishers: two red and one black. Then I go into the PVE event and I swear I'm in the most competitive bracket. The people at the top are over 300 points. The mechanics of the PVE event are also strange. The more you win, the tougher some of the fights seem to get. Don't even get me started on how often I get board screwed. (I'm looking at you skrulls *shake fist*)

Then I notice my Divine Champions rank keeps yo-yoing. I'm really hoping for top 15 but hovering between 14 and 16, it's not looking too likely unless I drop my shields and try and grab some extra points. Unfortunately that just tends to leave me open to retaliations which invalidate my wins and drop me even more points. Granted one Punisher cover is better than none. And no, I don't just want him for the One Man Army event. He's going to, or rather already has, become a permanent resident in my active roster along side my 85 Ares and 85 Original Black Widow.

  • You shouldn't have entered the event so early. It's your fault if you're in a competitive bracket.

Great theory, but not everybody reads the forums. I've been playing since just a few days after release on Android and I only started reading the forums like last week. I'd NEVER have known otherwise.

My point is that it's not the players fault if it's not made obvious in the game. You shouldn't have to read the forums to get basic information like that.

I made the same mistake, doesn't look like I will be getting a daredevil any time soon. icon_e_sad.gif
Brackets shouldn't only be based on when you joined but other factors like mmr, average placing, character levels.
  • I held myself from entering for about 3-4 hours... by then curiosity did overrun my minmaxing planning.
The first sub event is rather easy, I cleared all the maps twice with my lvl 51 patch (max at 2/2/2) and lvl 25 OBW (3/5/5), without a single heal pack used. Of course you need to plan ahead your strategy a bit icon_e_wink.gif
  • I'm really not liking how the fights get progressively harder. It's now practically impossible for me to grab the remaining rewards. I'll know better for next time. Also doesn't help that I only have one usable boosted character. Oh well... C'est la vie. I'm still happy with my Punisher drawings.

I agree that brackets should just be based on timing, in other words "random luck". I also don't think it should be only be based on MMR, character level/star count, player skill/development... since it would put all the strong players against each other. That isn't really fair to them since they should be placing in the top ranks.

One thing I do like about this PVE event is that all the missions in the sub-event are repeatable. I still don't think that only the top 25% in each bracket should get anything of merit. The other 75% are getting 100 ISO or less. That means if I get really unlucky with my reward drops and the missions scale too quickly I could be looking at a total bust for that particular instance of the sub event. I could also be interpreting it wrong and the level scaling is based on how many rewards I have earned.

It's an interesting experiment and time will tell if it was a success or not. Still, I think the lower 100 should get something like 250 ISO, and the 51-100 tier should get a standard recruit token and 250 ISO. Nothing in the Standard Recruit token pool is game breaking and at worst, it's 100 ISO's worth of 1* fodder.
