i have a serious issue and I'm pressed into drastic action. I have the loaded but under-powered roster one acquires when buying packs and roster slots to progress, 31 slots to be exact. They are almost entirely 3 star characters with between 3-5 covers and low levels to equal mixed in with a few 4 star characters with limited covers. I have 5 or 6 characters hovering at but not above the level 80-90 mark and then my perceived problem arises. I also have a Classic Spider-Man with 11 covers and a level of 109 paired with a TGoT with 2 blue and 2 yellow covers sporting a level of 106.

This seems to have crushed me as my enemies are consistently scaled above me and I underperform greatly, forcing grind sessions that would make a miller weep to stay in the bottom third of my top 50-100 PVE alliance and a support team unable to offer support. While members with way less in the way of roster size and character level easily stay ahead of me.

Now that my situation has been explained my questions are...

Will selling Spider-Man and or TGOT fix my situation by dropping my roster below level 90? If so, Can I simply Sell Spider-Man and hold onto TGoT to fix myself or am I simply burned and the only way out is to suffer until I collect enough ISO-8 to even out or give up?

I wouldn't sell any 3*..I would focus on building up a core of solid 2 stars and work from there

my question would be where are your 2*s at? it sounds almost as if youre trying to bypass them. with that size roster you should have 4-6+ lvl 94 2*s that would be the backbone of your pve roster especially when scaled to 134. 3*s wont perform well compared to fully leveled 2*s until about 10 covers and lvl 110ish. if pve is crushing you, i think getting the staple 2*s of obw, ares, thor, storm and mags leveled would be your best bet while you accumulate 3* covers through dpd. those 2*s will serve you well for along time.

i would never sell anything. just build a roster that has a solid middle, then worry about your 3*s.

I have two star Wolvie, Widow, and Storm non quite at 94 but close enough that the last little bit is minuscule. I have Juggs for the DDQ and recently started with MN Mags. I can't afford more rosters slots so I find myself in a pickle. Selling has to happen and they will be three stars. Even if it's only to make room for 2 star characters to lean on.
  • I'm being squashed by the good things in life. I have a top 50-100 PVE alliance that buries me in covers and I almost never miss a DDQ because of my roster size but without a real support team my ISO eventually becomes boosts and losing the 4 wave match causes my PVE score to drop out of the top 50-100 personal range. I can't grow but have resigned myself to cover absorption and possible growth when the characters I desire are fully covered.
  • It sounds at your level for PVP to get more 3* covers the C.Storm + M.Mags combo is probably your best bet (wind storm + polarity shift). Play Daily Deadpool every day to try and get more covers and ISO to level your characters. Right now you're at the 2* > 3* transition which is one of the toughest places to be since you don't have solid 3*s. And selling any 3*s won't fix the problem of your scaling (high levels in PVEs).
  • are we talking about PvE or PvP?

If PvP then tank (take all those undercovered 3*s and run them into teams in the simulator and get them downed). That will reduce the levels of your opponents, at least until you rech a certain score threshold.

If PvE then more complicated. You need to take more damage in matches to limit scaling. From that point of view spiderman being your top hero is an issue. Between protect tiles and burst healing topping heroes up, causeing damage to come out of that extra health and reduce the overall damage you take is bad for scaling.

It doesn't mean you need to sell him, just don't use him to exclusion. Instead make use of your large roster to put teams into easier nodes who will win but take a beating doing it. That somewhat limits the scaling you'll take in pvE (I know someone who does this a LOT and in spite of his very strong 4* roster his PvE levels are miles below my equivalent 4* roster.).

Long and short of it though... don't sell off 3* heroes. If you're not trying to accumulate them and improve your roster then why bother grinding PvE at all? icon_e_smile.gif

it sounds like a problem a lot of people would like to have. hopefully hp is coming in along with those covers so you can keep expanding the number of your roster slots. if youre in a top alliance, i suggest getting your guildmates to review your roster more specifically and give you suggestions. they may be able to recommend 3*s to keep and which ones to ditch if it comes to actually scraping 3*s (NOT recommended). at least thats more iso to level the guys youre going to focus on.

You've gotten most of the good advice you need. But there's one thing no one's picked up on yet. . .

Stop buying packs. Only buy roster slots.

In what universe is ANYONE with this "problem" considered an "amateur"?

I meant that I've been without the knowledge of this forum and played by myself for the first two months thinking I knew what was going on beyond MATCH/SMASH. I didn't know the word scaling even applied to this game just over a week or so ago. Now, I was simply asking if I could lower the scaling and allow myself to score better by selling the two characters that are over level 94. It seems logical but is a horrible mistake to make if it does no good. We need another active member to share in my problems if you're interested? We are currently ranked 25th. Pretty sure that's your problem. Insufficient 2* depth, with minimal synergy. Having 3* Spidey and TGT at less than 110 shouldn't adversely affect your scaling. You need 2* Storm/MNMags, OBW/Ares or Thor, etc. I wouldn't sell either Spidey or TGT, it won't make any real difference to your scaling.
  • You guys are great! Thank all of you for your help and hopefully I can help someone out in the future. I chose to spend some money and lucked into a great order after a couple of months. This by no means removes my amateur status when it comes to the meta game or advanced knowledge acquired through time. Apparently it doesn't even help my spelling.... AMATURE!! Guess the proof is in the pudding icon_e_smile.gif
