Matching tiles with no conscious teammates

Funny thing happened to me...

I had one downed character, one stunned character, and one character with very low HP. I used a power of my low HP character, and it triggered my opponent's Classic Storm yellow, which was enough to down him. I now had two downed characters and one stunned character, but it was still my turn. I can't remember who did the damage when I matched tiles, though.
