What is this "Line" you speak of?

I gather that it is some sort of communications service or something. Please tell me, what is it, how does it work, how do you apply it here, and how does one get it?

It's an app. Available on iTunes, Google Play store, download for PC. It's free. It's basically a messaging app, so if you're used to IM or ICQ or anything like that, it's similar. Find people by their names, chat with them.

If our plans come to fruition, sir, I will happily learn you the ways of Line. Honestly, I actually hate it as a message application, but it does seem to be popular.

Honestly, the app is not entirely user friendly at first, but once you get going, it's easy to navigate.

We use MySpace for our communication. Although some still use the telegram.

From what I understand it gives alliances a way to co-ordinate out of game, e.g. co-ordinate entering time slices together, shield hops, team up requests, moving people around other members of the same alliance family, and other sorts of game strategy that require more than the two lines the in game chat allows (which in itself is a very laggy and buggy feature, at least on iOS). i.m sure there are other uses but IDK, I was hoping to get my alliance to use something like Line but I just couldn't get it to work on the iPad (do you need a mobile phone to sign up or something?)

We have used it in our alliance with great success, as others have said it allows for not only greater communication between alliances, for those looking to Merc or to pick up new recruits but more importantly for improved communication within your alliance. It is really hard to explain PvE refreshes, shield hopping or offer roster advice to somebody using the in game chat. Also allows you to have Private conversations with your other commanders and if need be to talk to a member on the side without dragging it out in front of the rest of the alliance.

I believe that it does initially require smartphone to set it up as I think it sends the account confirmation via sms to the phone. After that however you can run it off just about anything. I have it on both my phone and my PC so I use my PC mostly when I have a lot to say (which is frequently to those of you that know me ) and use my iPhone when I am out. Also not everything shows up on the PC display that you get on the iOS app.

I strongly encourage alliances to use it or something similar and to get their members on board, if nothing else I feel that it helps connect you better with your fellow alliance mates and makes it more likely that you are going to stick together.

I have found that the more contacts that I have the easier the game gets, more people to draw on to help merc, more people to draw on if looking for a recruit, more people to draw on when looking for that last hop to get to 1k. And ultimately more people to have fun with
