Using outliers for statistical justification does not work.
I'm not going to go and pull all of the rewards from all of the events just to prove you wrong because unlike conspiracy theorists, I have better, saner, things to do.

Oh, I'm not one of the conspiracy theorists. I am imparting the knowledge that basing your argument on the statistical outliers of top is not a sound argument. If you can prove using outliers is a sound method of statistical analysis, please point me to the textbook, because then I will need a refresher.

I'd love to see D3's metrics on which customers are likely to buy packs vs covers vs never buy packs vs never buy covers, just so I could look at how the selection of placement covers impacts sales. Do they give that information to MODs? Even with you being trusted, I doubt they would risk even an accidental leak to anything that proprietary to their business model to any non-employees. Without that data, the arguments are baseless.

I don't really care how they pick covers for the rewards. D3 is doing a much better job in making the full game accessible to everyone. Some of the conspiracy theorist seem to want everything "right now." For me, for the game to be fun, I need to be able to see prizes I want to earn later on.
Sure. We need all the data and that's mostly my point. My example of how Cyclops was released is no less valid that the OPs example. Without the actual statistics, everything could be considered an outlier. There are currently 63 characters in the game and we've discussed about 5% of them in this thread. Statictically, we're all wrong until we discuss all characters.
  • I dont know its a conspiracy but lately it does seem a common behaviour
I play the same as usual but my Cyclops lacks one colour, same for Iron Fist now, Groot yellow wasn't so available either

I dont know if its purpose, if you ask me i can do more than well without Cyclops red (045), but in the past events i always had all skills by the end of the pvp or reaching a pve progression

If its "random" its skipping a beat and too often lately

    Isn't that how random works?
  • I agree, but that turns too easily into a reply that solves all the world's problems, or well, less dramatic at least the gaming ones here lol

But again, I dont have a particular stance on this, just find it annoying that they gave the skills on the forum, and you know before its out which is the best of them and that's randomly both times top 5 and no progression on pve

To be honest, with the exception of IceIX, I don't think ANY of the devs/staff play enough or at a high enough level to really know what the meta is at any given time or how mew characters will ultimately impact it. So when these characters are designed, approved, built, and implemented they may think it's balanced when it's broken; good or bad. That said, I think that if they did give out rewards based on "ideal" builds all of the time it would imbalance the game even more for the high end players who would only ever have to buy at most 2 covers to max a character.
