  • Can we just have the 8-bit NES-style Deadpool cover back once these variants time out?
There was no reason to change it to terrible. Current variant is better than whatever the hell that was it randomly changed to.

    Agreed.

It was just too perfect for it's purpose.

I wonder how nobody noticed the bad butt/legs on the new Captain Marvel variant. Also her head looks like she's having a problem with hair loss. i really like the cover in small because of the radiant colors and setting, but once it gets full screen i can't overlook the bad. Makes me mad because it could have been great.

other than that i'm with the majority of the votes icon_e_smile.gif
  • Anyone else find it slightly confusing to call the different covers "current" and "variant" when the "variant" covers are the ones "currently" being featured in the game? It doesn't seem to have hindered the discussion so far, but it was at least a little confusing for me at first.

I could be wrong but I think all of the new covers are actually variants

Yeah, sorry. Can't change it now, since editing OPs blows away the answers (I think). Hopefully the OP is clarification enough.
  • I think I voted for new IW over indifferent because I really want them to make IW changes and I like the old cover quite a lot but I have come to associate that art with, oh, another IW yellow awesome icon_rolleyes.gif

Trisul, it could be wise to edit the first sentence in the OP as clarification. something like "BEFORE VOTING PLEASE BE ADVISED...." bla blah

Personally I'd appreciate an executive summary with a brief historical analysis of variant covers and some form of Excel sheet with pivot tables.

Does editing the OP reset poll results?

Seriously? People are still having trouble figuring out "current" and "variant?" I feel like I'm taking crazy pills here...

Yeah... If you think it's simple you have it the other way around

Really? "Current," meaning the cover currently in use by the game. "Variant," meaning the alternate art...which is even labeled as such. Not hard.

No, but editing the poll should.
Edit: not sure if just changing wording in the poll is safe. Adding/removing poll options definitely resets the poll.

make a poll what people think

    a) changing resets the poll

    b) the votes will stay

then change it and see who's right? icon_e_wink.gif

Yeah, you have it the other way around. We're currently using the variants. Who's taking the crazy pills now, Mr. Smarty pants.

I assume over 50% of people will not figure out that "current" doesn't mean current.

I'm also surprised that no feminist has jumped into complain that women don't bend at the chest. Personally don't think the hair is a problem, but it could just be a personal preference. The overall concept is just so good that you don't really notice the flaws until you look closer.

The hair is actually supposed to be like that for her to fit the kree helmet she wears properly.

It is a matter of taste, but, personally, I hate the mohawk hairstyle. Especially on superheroes because, let's face it, no cares about common people who think they look cool. With the success of Marvel movies in the last 4-5 years, I would expect that the style the choose for the heroes would be one that is easier to carry on the big screen and on TV. Mohawk is so damn hard to look even decent on screen. That's why they didn't give a fin to Yondu in Guardians of the Galaxy and it was the right decision. He looked more badass this way than he would be with a fin as a huge bullseye on his head. I doubt readers would complain if her hairstyle was normal and she looked as she does now with the helmet on. There are way too many things in comics that defy common sense for us to bother with what does with her hair when she puts the helmet on.

Yeah I think that's why the more recent series doesn't bother with the mohawk. Since Captain Marvel can change her clothes to whatever she wants anyway, it doesn't particularly add to her character in any interesting way.

She looks pretty badass when she equips the helmet though.
