I never look at team ups when I start a match in PvP . but I just lost 3 matches in a Row because the devs giving already op teams op team ups. Why would you give a 270 wolvie and Hood team a. Rage of the Black panther team up. Your setting people up for loss.

Even the 2* teams have them. The last one I lost was vs 2* THOR and Ms Marvel and I was like oh looks easy points. So he gets call of the storm. And I'm like so what 1 more match til whales, I make the match and after checking to see if they had enough ap for powers ...nope icon_e_smile.gif...... Them boom 1800 damage wind storm TU takes out hood and loki with 4 turn stunned deadpool. Then they get a black and red cascade and smacks deadpool with sonic boom. And thors 8ap move

  • You can see what teamups the opposing team has if you scroll to the end of the character info screen. You can also deny teamup AP, especially if you have your own strong teamups from PvE or alliancemates. Ironically, 1* teamups can even be pretty good. Unstoppable Crash is a good board shake when you have a terrible board, and Widow's Sting is an amazing stun when it's not attached to a Black Widow that's made of toilet paper.

I love the surgical strike TU.
  • The worst is still Aggressive Recon. 8 TU to totally screw you, and in a game where you can usually ignore TU entirely...

Still, that's just it, right? You can usually ignore them completely for a reason. It just sounds like a run of bad luck for the OP.

I admit that I don't always look. I hate when I bring Daken and out of nowhere Loki tricks me. But I always kick myself for not looking when I get hit with a powerful (not op) team up.

Got hit with a Righteous Uppercut just the other day during a Deadpool Daily. It was pretty righteous...
  • My personal favorite are the teamups that feed directly into otherwise avoidable powers. Been denying blue? Sounds like the perfect time for a Peacemaker TU in the corner the feeds a Battle Plan, just in case you wanted to match that protect tile away.

The node "The Hood" hit me with a big fat whales tu earlier today. I did not notice it was equipped either, it made me mad but it's part of the game. Over 4k damage to each character, downed obw, xforce pulled it out. Live and learn man, it happens to everyone eventually.

I thought it costs the amount of the ability? Anyway, most of the tu's are pretty tame, though once in a while they're nasty.
You can also see the tu on the fight screen when you can click to add boosts or tu's.
Also, the ai used to be able to use three tu's, and that included world rupture, supernova, and headbutt.

I can't even remember the last time I used a team up. Of course, they still cost me health packs every other match.

There are some pretty useful team ups you can request for if you're in an alliance. If you need a board clear, juggs is relevant at any level and cheap to cast. So is modern black widow's stun. Very cheap, stuns whole enemy team for 1 turn and your target for 5 turns. Aggressive recon is always a nice TU that serves as a nuisance but can also be clinical if you apply it in a sudden-death kinda situation.

The team ups the AI uses are often a nuisance, but the ones you can use can really turn the tide.

I am a mobile player and I do not know how you can tell which TU the AI has other than the one they display when you are picking your opponent. I thought the devs have said that AI is limited to 1 TU, but I have been hit with multiple ones recently so not sure if I just made it up in my head.

On the mobile, once you start the match, to see what the team up the opponent has, click on one of the enemy protraits to see their basic info, their abilities, etc. There's an arrow on the portrait to cycle to the next character and so on. You'll eventually hit the team up toon and the correlating ability it will use in game.
  • Ok, here's what you do;

    ...

    ...

Wait, what was I talking about again?
  • I still hate team-ups. Granted their current state is so much better than the horrible mess in which they were launched, I still mostly find myself wishing they would just go away. The old environments which TUs replaced were in desperate need of balancing (Jungle and Desert I'm looking at you), but I'd take them back in a heartbeat over this stuff. At least they had a little flavor, something else to differentiate one fight from another. TUs are just something else horrible that can happen on a "color" that's much harder to deny. I could go off on a rant about all the reasons why stripping powers from their color and owner is stupid, but I just don't have the energy for it right now. Maybe later. For now I'll just go with "**** team-ups".

No, you're getting confused by multiple matches - the AI only gets the one TU you can see on the opponent screen.

Love when the ai uses a team up smite after you've power surged

Oh that's gotta hurt. What about when you just used beserker rage and for some reason they gave a Loki team up.
