First let me say, I absolutely LOVE this game and even that's an understatement. The only thing I have a question about is Level Cap vs. Level Max. What are the differences and how do they work with each other? I've searched every where to learn the differences but no answers anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

  • It's a little flexible, but I think most people use Level Cap as the maximum level that they can get a character to given their current covers. So if they had a 3* character with 1/1/1 covers, the character would have a level cap of 45, even though they can eventually get to a level maximum of lvl 166 with 13 covers.

    "Soft Cap" is also ambiguous.
    1. Some people use this term as "I've leveled my character as far as I can go with the current covers,"
    2. Others use it as a temporary barrier for strategy, eg "I've soft capped all my level 3's at level 94 so I can use more team compositions, even though some of them could currently be leveled to 120 or higher."

    Let me try,

Level Cap is the maximum level you can raise your character to based on the amount of covers you have.

Level Max is the highest level you can raise your character to when you have all of their covers.

    Hope this helps.

Now I understand. Thanks onyxsnake and daibar for the explanations, I truly appreciate it.

The second part of what daibar is saying is that some people choose to "cap" their characters at a certain level for strategical purposes. Meaning they are able to level them higher, but decide not to because they feel "capping" them is a smarter strategy than "maxing" them.

Why would that be a smarter and strategic move?
