What did pre-Nerf Rags win you?

Moral

I still do not have a single Rags cover but I did pay out for 4 Spidey covers. I can play about 6-8 matches per hour. (Cannot break top 1000 in lightning rounds)

The way I see it that investment helped me win:
5 IM 40 covers
3 additional Spidey covers
5 hulk covers
8 punisher covers
2 4 star wolverine covers
4 patch covers
1 invisible woman cover

This isn't everything I won since then but I feel it's a best guess since many of my top 5 wins would have been top 45.

Rather than what was lost, what did he do for you?

Rags was necessary to consistently win in LR. I didn't get my first Rag covers until post-nerf (when his LR became a tank fest for everyone else). So without a Rag, and having never spent money on covers, I have:

12 IM40
11 BWGS
10 Spideys
9 Punisher
8 Hulk
2 IW

The rest of my 3*'s are at 4 covers (Doom, Loki, Hood) or less (Rags, Mags, and Patch).

I'm sure I pulled a few of those from packs along the way, but the bulk of what I have, I won. And just a week or so ago, I finally got my first 100+ toon. The game is all about knowing and min/maxing the systems that are in place, and playing Thor/Wolverine.

Pre-nerf he dealt some of the highest damage per AP in the game, plus generated AP for other characters, and was a good tank. He had more hp than Thor and for 2 red AP you got about 1k damage (not positive, mine wasnt maxed) plus created 5 green tiles. Starting with the +3 all and +3 red you could toss out three iterations and then cycle to Wolvs green or even better was BWGS's sniper that was AOE.

All of that meant that he cut into the number of turns before the match was over and was a great deterrent (high hp). You could string more matches together before healing and rarely were retaliated against.

Oh, and he had a hand in a few of my 4/5/4 xforce covers, and the couple iw covers I have.

Rag cost me, finished him the night before the nerf and I dumped my iso bank into him to get him to 90. That sucked

Same here except that xforce. Nice job man. Rags was great but it wasn't ever an auto win. Just great for people who took advantage right out of the gate.

Yeah, pretty much the same. Every single 3* villain cover except for 2 yellow hoods, and then enough covers to complete gsbw/punisher pretty easily, too. I'm still missing two covers each from xforce/IW, but I think half of those covers came after the Rag nerf.

How do you like the red there for Xforce? I have a 4th red in my cache and not sure whether to use it. I mean, I think it makes the most sense since it gives a 25% boost but the upcoming buff to X-Force makes me nervous they'll change things too much.

I didn't get my first Rag cover until mid-Dec., so I've never used him in a battle where I wasn't forced to.

He still sits at the bottom of my roster unleveled.

He made competing in LRs much easier (speed) but wasnt necessary. Plus, the biggest reason people couldnt compete in LR was that they didnt have the time. The two times I legitimately made efforts in LR I was able to end up with a villian cover, and I used Thorverine. I just dont have a solid 1.5 hr to devote.

I had about 1 1/2-2 weeks with him at a high level before he got slapped down. The biggest benefit I got from him was being able to charge up to the top of the SHIELD training progression rewards right before they removed shields and dropped the HP rewards. Won all but 2 of my covers for him from lightning rounds (one was a green from dailies, spent 1250 on a single red), so I made up for the HP dropped on him in that at-the-buzzer run.

In terms of farming lightning rounds for ISO, he's still absolutely great for me, so I don't consider it a giant loss even though it would have been nice to have a little more time with him before he left for that farm upstate where my parents "sent" my childhood pets. Ah, ships that pass in the night.

Its his only useful skill right now, and I finished his build before they said anything about changes. I'm sure hoping I don't regret it. I don't have much advice, but as he stands today, 5 in green or yellow are both worthless.

Possibly? Right now hardly anyone even uses the 3* roster beyond spidey and/or mags. I love Punisher, but Wolvie still outclasses him for the time being. Plus, its a disgusting ISO investment to level even one of those. My Loki, hood, bwgs and (obviously) patch are still babies, since all my ISO has been funneled into a still unusable xforce.

The fact you got the covers with the help of a broken Rag is the only thing that matters. If someone had Ragnarok for 1 month, then even if he maxed him, that was well spent ISO. He and Spiderman and Wolverine is the reason (that and the time each one put in the game of course) for having access to almost all the heroes right now. At some point all 3* heroes will be where they should be and then you will be able place top 1-2 to hunt down the covers you miss or the new heroes that will be released. New players on the other hand will have to fight their way up with nerfed Wolverine and Thor.

But they'll be mostly fighting other new players, using OBW, Ares, and I don't know, c.storm. It will all be relative. It's not like those new players will have to go toe to toe with me.

Didn't win nearly as much as you given my time with a lvl 100+ ragnarok was short lived however I was able to acquire 10-15 (maybe even 20) additional villain covers through the use of rag.
