Potentially Stupid Question but Can't Find the Answer...

So, I'm getting pretty close to having some maxed 3*s (finally!)

My highest right now are icon_colossus_new.png, icon_punisher.png , icon_blade.png , icon_rocket.png , and icon_beast.png . I know this isn't ideal (Colossus, Punisher and Blade all compete for black and I'd rather not pair a strong Red with Blade - and then there's Beast). But that's not what I'm looking for knowledge on.

I've been looking especially hard at Punisher, each additional cover really doesn't do much to increase the damage of his abilities. Then I noticed in the Character Discussion boards that almost every ability for every character lists a 6th level (Max level). Does that mean that when I hit level 166, the character's powers will drastically boost?

That's what it sounds like but I really don't remember noticing this when I maxed my 1* and 2* characters. Granted, that was a while ago now so maybe I just didn't realize it happened.

Am I understanding this correctly?

It's not a 6th level, it is just the damage 5 covers does when your character is maxed at level 166- it is a gradual climb to that max damage , not a jump when u hit 166.

The wiki (link at top of character page in character forum) sometimes lists the damage at 166 level if you have 3-4 or 5 covers in that ability which is often useful when you are wondering how to distribute the 13 max covers
  • There is a base amount of damage done that is based on the number of covers that you have for that ability. The base amount increases based on the level of the character. In other words 5 cover Thor green at level 166 does a lot more damage than 5 cover Thor green at level 40.
  • "Max level" isn't an extra level for an ability. It just shows you how much damage the ability does when you level your character to 166. The power boosts slowly with the iso you feed the character. Take Punisher, for example: Max Level Red would be 1738 (or the last 40%). That means that if your Punisher has 5 red and you level him to 166, then the damage he does will climb slowly along the way until you reach level 166, then he does 1738.
    Was that helpful?

I'm a little confused by the wording, but pretty sure I got the gist.

Yes, all characters damage increases as you add Iso to them. In those threads, the damage listed is the base damage (at level 40), and then it lists the maximum damage, if you have 5 colors in the ability and have brought the character to level 166. It's not a 6th level, but just rather how the character grows. Level 103 is around half of the increase.

FWIW, Colossus-Groot-Blade is a decent rainbow team. There are definitely worse groups you could have cover maxed.

    Ohh!! That explains it.

Told you it was a stupid question.

    Thanks.
