Dear Abby, I Have a Dilemma

So, ever since the introduction of Alliances, I've been on the alliance of my buddy that introduced me to the game. Problem is, the roster has never been full, and I seem to be the most competitive member. Hell, I even had my own kid join. See, some of these guys are buds, and while I'd like to be part of a group that actually might win some of the prizes, I'd hate to disappoint the fellas by leaving them in the cold without my contribution to their meager earnings.

On the other hand, my retention on the alliance has likely hampered my star.pngstar.png to star.pngstar.pngstar.png transition (which has lasted months).

Any advice?

kick all your non-buddies, recruit here, try and turn your existing alliance into a top 100 by recruiting strong (yet charitable) players.

tell your buddies to contribute what they can, but no less than their best.

    good luck.

Now, I don't know why I didn't take that angle. Why don't *I* ask for the mantle of leadership and improve the squad? In retrospect, I feel kinda selfish for not thinking of that myself.

    Thanx Aron!

Alternatively, you might want to consider joining another alliance since your objectives of the game differ from your buddies.
Otherwise, even if you work so hard, you won't be achieving what you want (i.e. missing out on potential / additional covers and rewards).

Good luck and enjoy the game! icon_e_smile.gif

My advice is always about the same in circumstances like these; you can only carry people so long. IF they're really your "buds" they'll be fine (or step their game up some).

If the problem is simply empty space, just recruit some people from the forums (or if any of you play on Steam, you come recruit on the community page).
  • I started out like you, in a friend's alliance where I was the only high scorer. I played Season 1 in it, then finally felt it was time for me to move on. I found a space in an alliance that was changed to public halfway through Season 2, which made the scores decline even further. Most of the high scorers, me included, left for Season 3. This time I wanted top 100 and found a new home in Retribution, where I remained until the end of this last Season, where we merged with the Deadpool family.
So if you're the only one with good scores, I suggest you choose that option, find a new home that suits you and stay there. Plenty of high-scoring alliances are recruiting. Browse through the requirements and take your pick.
