HUGE glitch with Lethal Intent shields.

Had a single 1-day shield left to purchase. Entered one last fight and won. My score was 1328 and I was in second place. I went to buy that shield and I was denied. I have since gone from second place with 1328 points to 37th with 700+ points.

Simply put, I'm furious. Anyone else experiencing the same malfunction? I know Worldrunner 2.0 had the same thing happen to him.

That sounds like a crazy huge glitch.

WR should post here as well to document it as close to happening as possible.

Play with 3h and 8h shields.

I know for a fact I put up an 8 hour shield with only 6 hours left. When I woke up the event was over and my score had dropped (only 30-40 pts) but regardless it cost me top 5 and put me at rank 6. I'm sure I could prove when the shield was purchased and how much time was left for my specific shard but I only lost a red cyclops and it's hardly worth my effort. I'll pick him up next time.

It has happened a handful of times this season to people I know. Hard to bounce back from. The devs know about the issue and have said they're working on it. Make sure you send a ticket and see what they can do for you.

Still not fixed? My condolences, now I know what happened to Worldrunner's score. Went from being worth 38 to 3. Awful. All they can do is restore the HP spent but not lost scores.

Besides the shields, has anyone else had a problem with the Lethal Intent PvP straight up disappearing??? I always play in the last few hours and I still had like 7 1/2 hrs to go but it wasn't there. The score placement was already up as if the event ended, but when I clicked into the rewards to look at the time there was still a ton of time left.

I had a similar issue about two / three weeks ago Zonatahunt. After climbing to the early 900s, I paid for a three hour shield but no shield came up and I kept refreshing for a while, checking points board etc. I was then denied using a three hour shield when I retried as it said the cooldown was running. After sitting unshielded for a bit, I gave up and bought an eight hour one (which worked) and had to use a 24 hour one, which I shouldn't have needed, to guarantee hitting 1,000 (which cost HP for the failed shield/the 24 hour one depending on how you look at it).

I now try to only use three and eight hour shields so that I always have a 24 hour one as a backup! Not ideal and hugely restrictive. I sent a ticket about this the same day it happened which is unresolved. My post about it on this forum was rapidly sheparded into the bugs column and promptly ignored/forgotten.

If you can't trust the shield system it sort of shakes your whole faith in the game.

Not to take away from the overall sentiment of your statement (which is all well and good, it's always frustrating when things don't work as you'd expect), but I just wanted to point out that there's not really anyone on the forums that can do any real technical troubleshooting. All of that stuff is handled by D3P's (I assume they contract them, at least) Customer Service mercenaries. I wish I could, but there's no way for anybody to be able to to that stuff without potentially interfering with the integrity of the system.

If it's been an extended period of time, you can contact HiFi with your ticket number, and he can look into the case for you, but even he can't do anything himself (as far as I know). I'd take an educated guess in saying that it is taking as long as it is because they are trying to root out the bug that caused the issue so they can fix it. That being said, I don't understand why they haven't just compensated you yet.

Since people so jumped on my post - really - only 24h was mentioned first and no mention of other shields was given - since I have been using 3+8+3+8+3 for several events now and haven't came across the issue, I assumed this is what to do until the "24-h shield bug" would be fixed.
So there - hope this clears it up for you people who need to have everything spelled out in a thousand words...

Nice try, but it's not a "24-h shield bug", it's a shield bug. Your advice was as helpful as telling someone whose oven blew up when they were baking a cake, to bake pies

Happened to me once. Used a 3hs shield, broke and when tried to buy an 8h it said the shield was still in cooldown, when i ve never used that one before in that pvp. Luckyly i had a 24hs to buy, so i didn t lose points. But after a ticket sent they refund my 150 hp back. May be you could ask for the 2-5 position rewards

But saying to just use 3 and 8 hour shields is still irrelevant (I guarantee you Zonata was already using those or he would have chosen those if the 24 didn't work). 24 hour shields are supposed to be available for everyone to use. If they are faulty, D3 needs to either take them down or put a message out not to buy them at all and whoever tries to use them is doing so at their own risk. Since they are available, Zonata was relying on it to shield but was unable to, leading to his post. It's great that you can use 3-8-3-8-3 shielding. Unfortunately, not everyone can come back to MPQ at such regular intervals. That is where a 24 hour shield comes in handy.

I JUST had the same issue in Women of Marvel..... same conditions.... 1353 points.... dropping like a rock now....

There have been at least two shield glitches identified recently (last season) and as far as I know, one has been corrected already and the other will be corrected in the next release. The glitch that has yet to be fixed is that some shields will show as available even though their cooldown has not run out yet. For this reason I use a timer app on my device to keep track of when my cooldowns are actually done.

From what I've been hearing from other players, if you contact CS with details you may be compensated in some way, but I can't say that you will for sure.

Jamie.... I use timers for all 3 of my shields. ... that's how I KNEW I had a shield available.

I've yet to hear back from D3 on this issue.

Anyone that's had this happen to them, have you received any kind of compensation?

This just happened to me. Was around 1008 pts in Fist Bump. Unshielded, won 40 pt match to lock up T5, then couldn't select 300 hp shield even though it was available. Got the cool down popup.

Cost me T5 & Luke Cage covers after I put well over 1k+ hp. Will be submitting ticket.
