Giving back to the community

Hello fellow mpq fighters.
So I was just looking back at my post and noticed that most of them were about complaining so I thought to my self, why not be positive for once? So I started thinking about the positive things I do for the community, and I would like to hear some things that others do as well so that I can learn to be more positive.

The first things that come to mind are, when I play pvp I never push hard unless I really need the 1st place 4* cover I like to give others that may need it a chance to win it, this also applause to the top 5 or 10 progression.

So on my way up I only hit targets that'll benefit from me, for example I only hit teams that have one 4* and 2 166 this way they get higher points from me if they retaliate. when I start using x-force I never hit a team that I know that can't beat me.

I also don't hit teams with fully leveled 4*s if they are worth less than 24 points because, well that don't need the points really only if they are from my alliance.

If I need the 1k progression reward I push hard until I get past 1k and then stay open so that others can get points to hit the 1k reward also so it actually makes me happy to see -30 or -40.

After getting drained hard a few minutes before the event end I climb high enough to either place top 25 or 50 only cause I need the hp and ISO.

I really like this. Since the only 4* you guys don't try to get is invisible woman. You guys should do us a favor and not drive to 1000 when she's available because I'll take any 4 star possible.

    Please and thank you

But we do try only difference is that she is an old 4* so most devs have her al ready and she is do for a buff as well.

As corny as it sounds, this is honestly the reason I decided to become a moderator when I got the messages a couple months ago. It's one of the few ways I can give back to the community as a whole. I've been a forum moderator (and even Administrative, in-game Moderation, and Helpdesk Staff) before, so I knew how much of a pain the act of being "big bad mod" really can be and how stressful trying to organize everything can be - and after leaving the last position I held, I told myself I'd avoid that kind of volunteering in the future. Here I am - did it anyways. icon_lol.gif

All in all, it's awesome to be able to help the community out behind the scenes. I just wish I had more free time to do the things I want to do to add to the community.

As an established 4* player I don't go out of my way to 'give back' but I do try to be helpful and occasionally do nice gestures.

On at least 3 events to my knowledge I have deliberately taken a dive from what would have probably been a 1st place or top 5 finish to allow the player before me a shot at a cover they needed and I already had. Of course...that's just 3 events out of hundreds so this hardly makes me a saint but it's better than nothing? Yeah, we'll go with that.

My way of giving back comes more from actually caring about the game enough to actively help people with advice and information. I was in a top 100 alliance for nearly 10 seasons and would often help newer players get established and teach them the tricks of this game. Things like getting the most out of LR's, how player positioning matters, what characters are great at the end game and which teams are realistically good for their current progress. Things like that.

These days I'm in a top 10 alliance so I'm very rarely helpful since the people I play along side have as much or more experience than I do. That said, I still show that I care by trying to make positive posts and recommendations on these forums that hopefully keep both player and corporate interests in mind. If you've seen my history I try to avoid being all 'gimme gimme gimme' and prefer to view things as 'what would make this a win/win for all'. I also actively try to offer constructive feedback rather than simply state something is great or sucks.
