Just Venting - Feel free to ignore

So, had a busy day at work. Chose to push at the 8 hour mark of Sentry PvP (10am) because I would be out for the next 6. Really wanted top 25, so was happy to have the initial shield around 700 in 21st place. Come back around 4:30 and see I have dropped to 38th, but I have 2 40 pointers lined up, so may still have a shot. By the time I push, I have been shielded for almost 7 hours.

I start the clock as I like to know how long I have been unshielded - helps decision making process. First win is quick and easy - done in under 90 seconds. Come back to a loss notice - ****? Second game is closer to 2 minutes - get the shield back up at 3 minutes 23 seconds. 2 more losses during the second game. Finished at 684 but never seen a hit during a quick first game before or 3 hits during a quick hop. 5 minutes is the usual rule of thumb for me.

Plus, [tinfoil hat] I only got 1 retaliation node [/tinfoil hat] I know that things have been a little crazier of late, but I should have been cleared out of everyone's nodes after near 7 hours shielded.

Anyway, I am done - feel much better after this (free therapy). Have a good weekend all

I spent the day being attacked; figured I'd start hitting the 8-10 retaliation nodes I should have lined up at lunch and shield. So I start, and I have all of three retaliation nodes, one of which was only 15 points and not worth going after.

PVP is terrible.

How do I hate thee, let me count the ways.
I hate that I only get three seed teams
Then a wall of X-Force, or so it seems
Which lasts the whole event, yes all three days.
I hate that those with 2 Stars cannot rise
For the veterans and whales destroy them
Giving them no option but to condemn
The game since there will be no 3 Star prize.
I hate that HP is spent on strong shield,
A plan in place for when the cooldown ends
Knowing to miss the timing is to yield
To the player who surely spends and spends
On health packs and whose characters are healed
And so to the 4 Star prize he ascends.

I had good luck in the simulator last night and this morning. I've never seen this before, one other alliance member said they saw it too. A player named KidMarvel....KEPT giving me 50pts for a Jugg, Venom, Patch team . I seriously kept skipping 3-5 times until i got him again. I made 500 points in 30mins. easy pickings. Then this morning i got him two more times for 50pt each, then after the 3rd battle i noticed my score only went up 7pt...although it showed him at 50pt. So i tried again at 50pt, still only got 7pt.

Oh well. Was a nice boost while it lasted


(update) i just decided to try again..6hours later. I watched the counter go from 867 to 917....my leaderboard score shows 917...but when i exit and come back in..my score is back to 867. hmm..weird.

I kind of lucked out and got a last minute attack from a guy with 1100 point before I collected my debts, even though I had a score of 550 or so at that point. The server lagging behind in updating your score does come in handy at times (the guy must have queued me up earlier and saw my peak score). How are you supposed to formulate a plan on who to attack if you can't even be sure what their score is?

The score of any particular player you see is the score they had at the time the game queued them up, not the time you won the battle. For example let's say you have 1000 and so does another guy, and then that guy later lost 25 games in a row and went back to 200 points. To you, that guy would appear as a 25 point, but when you do win it's going to use the correct score (200) and you'd get +1. If the situation was reversed (guy started out even, gained 1000 points between the time you've him queued and the match) you'd see someone that appears to worth 25 but you'd get credit for 50 when you do win when you check your score on the leaderboard. I'm pretty sure that guy is bugged so you're going to see an especially large variation between his apparent score and real score, but it's not unusual to have a 20 point swing between what you're expecting and what you actually get even in normal events once people start climbing (or falling).

Kid Marvel's a different issue - it appears to be a buggy account that was supposed to be sandboxed. Everyone: if you see Kid Marvel, DO NO ATTACK HIM. Even if he's fifty points.

Ya know about quoted score vs what u actually may get when it's over. it's only giving 7pts now. But I like I said, I did go from about 100+ to now 867 just from him. Will I get reduced or penalized for taking advantage of it, even though I didn't know it was a bug?

Yup, there are like 4 threads in the Bugs/Technical Issues sub-forum related to the issue. I think one was posted in General Discussion, just as a heads up, like your post Ben, but it got moved over to the Bugs/Technical Issues sub. Also, 10 Pks from first sub haven't been delivered, and I don't think I've gotten the standard from that one either, so that's another known issue that people may not know about.
