this is so utterly ridiculous

Just did essential 10 with blade, hulk and spidey. I had mag and storm with b/p boost times 3 and critical times 2 and guess what, I even have 2 blue with hood so I should be stealing blue and pink when there are ten on the board. So I see 12 blue on the board, doesn't steal, I see 10 pink on the board doesn't steal, and there are only 7 reds on the board, but blade immediately starts putting strike tiles down. Also, the first 3 times I make a match, it gives the AI a 4 or 5 match which immediately starts a cascade that decimates my team within 6 turns...this happened 3 times in a freaking row. Heals gone, boosts gone, characters gone.

Need to check. Hood at 2 blue steals only if there are more than 10 tiles - ie 11 tiles. Also, if enemy doesn't have ap in those colours he has nothing to steal.

Hood should be 10 at 2 coverz. Other team probably didn't havd any to steal

I know what you mean. This one time I got an insane cascade and was able to kill the entire enemy team in one turn. Utterly ridiculous.

It s funny that all people remember is when insane cascades are from the AI. I just won a PVP match, where i beat full Xforce and full Thorine in 1 turn, leaving only poor Spidey to finish. I must be cheating, right? icon_rolleyes.gif (I m sorry, your Holliness Jamie Madroxx, you were a juicy 47 pointer... I know, it´s Sacrilege!!! icon_e_surprised.gif )

Sometimes Jamie Madroxx allows others to beat him so they can get a brief taste of the awesome that is Jamie Madroxx. That's how generous he is.

I get my cascades against the AI, but you know when I seem to get them...When it doesn't matter. I will get those crazy cascades against level 40 goons. I will get those crazy cascades when I have the AI on the mat with one character left and 1000 hp left. I occasionally get them during the game, but I have to create my own with mag's pink or gsbw pink or hulk green, etc. I rarely get them from making a 4 or 5 match on my own. That is what the devs need to look at if possible...at what time in the game does the cascade happen for us vs AI and what happened just previously (did I use an ability or did AI just do a simple match).

The devs already explained that tile generation is completely random. It would require much, much more effort to code tile generation specifically to screw players.

This game has a lot of RNG. Expect bad breaks from time to time.

I definitely saw the extreme of that last week. The AI cleared a column and it was filled entirely by red. Thankfully there were no red users on that team (goons)

An entire row of 8 of the same color should drop about every 40 millionth time. Never happened for or against me, but imagine someone is seeing it just about every day. Lucky you.

Just one thing, did the AI have ap to steal? You can't steal what they don't have

Confirmation bias. I suggest you read up on it.

  • So the other day my initial board featured the ultra rare match 7:

Not only a match 7, but one that gave me a second match 7 right away:

Which in turn produced a very lovely cascade for me and I was able to win on turn 2 I believe. Utterly ridiculous. Maybe I should've been playing the lottery instead of MPQ.

At WORST I do think it could be argued that the RNG isn't particularly good. It seems* to be pretty clumpy, which is why you'll see full stacks of a color drop or why I pulled 3 gold covers (that I didn't need, 'natch) in a row from standard tokens the other day. But that clumpiness is in the player's favor just as often as it's in the AI's favor.

*SEEMS. I'm human too, so I notice patterns that aren't really there just like everyone else does. All of my evidence is anecdotal.

True RNG is very clumpy. This is why some games change their random number generation to be more even. I know League of Legends' crit calculations are smoothed (not true RNG).

Maybe it can be argued that the devs should implement a similar smoothing tile generation algorithm (i.e. dropping a bunch of yellow tiles will reduce the chance of more yellow tiles for a little bit). I for one am fine with the current implementation.

tiny kitty now look what you did. now i have to create a spread sheet track all my pulls and keep track of all the tiny kitty Cascades for me and my opponents for the next 30years cause my entire >1 year of on and off playing is not a suitable sample size. why couldn't you let me vent.
