Problem with gauntlet start time

Why no shards for gauntlet start time? Only those who can start the instant the event opens have a shot at top 10. If you don't want to give out too many packs, just do like top 2 for each shard instead of 10 for the entire community.

Or perhaps I am not understanding how the top rewards work? Hopefully I am missing something, but this seems like a very unfair way to begin an event who's top rewards make it effectively a race.

You don't get put in a bracket until you start the event and the t10 rewards are for bracket placement, not overall placement.

yes, but how would you know if the bracket you get slotted into when you do start the event hasnt already had a headstart ahead of you..
The only way you get a shot at t10 is if you are at the start line when the gun goes off.not later than that; its all luck unless theres a ticker on fresh brackets opening

Tiny bracket sizes would a better solution, since similar start times are more important than end times for such a competition. But honestly, I don't think it's worth fretting over.
  • I like the speedrun aspect and had fun giving it a go, but didn't make top 10 (thankfully the start time worked well for me). I think it would be interesting to do away with the competition aspect of the speedrun and make it an achievable award. Something like a 12 minute match clock that counts down during each match, or even a "start speedrun" button. If you beat the target time, you get the reward. I'd like that even without a 10-pack. Never gonna happen, but fun to dream.
