Why did this happen?

I was hurled into some random bracket for Season XI without having completed even one match. In prior seasons I was given the opportunity to choose when I join. Now I'm in a bracket with 0 points while top 10 all have 2000... Appreciate that guys. I'm about 1 more bullsh** move from quitting altogether.

You seem to be bracketed for the season when you select your end time for your first PvP. Unless you mean you were bracketed in the season without even choosing an end time? That might be a bug.

What's the problem exactly? So some people spent the last day grinding the Sim for some reason and you ended up in their bracket. You haven't missed a PvP, so you have every opportunity to reach them.

Are you worried that they are more "hard-core" than you? I don't understand why you are upset.

You're right... I did choose an end time for SL's PVP. I knew I shouldn't have touched anything.
  • If you haven't started season 11 yet, you start when bracket 3 usually starts

I'd bet money that those people with 2k inflated their score with the simulator. People aren't scoring like that anymore from what I've seen in individual events.

Season bracket doesn't matter as much. Everything evens out by the end.

I hadn't played for a while and pretty much missed the Star-Lord PVP - I checked in just now (final time slice has just ended) and found that I'd already been put into a bracket despite never choosing a time or playing any matches. Does the game just automatically enter you if the last time slice is the only one remaining and you haven't chosen yet?

I was kind of bummed; sometimes you can enter with 30 minutes to go and get a really small, easy bracket that guarantees you top 50 without much effort. You miss out on the points (for season purposes) but get the reward. But this time as I'd already been put into a bracket, I was #500 from the start and couldn't climb up fast enough.

This post is seriously confusing. First I'm pretty sure season brackets are like 5000 people not 500, also this is 8.5 hours from your post and the final time slice still doesn't end for another 12 minutes or so. Also those season brackets never stay small. People who didn't play the first pvp (or second, etc.) will be placed in later and get tacked on the end. Anyway, not sure what you're trying to say.

Sorry if I confused you, but I was talking about the brackets and time slices for the Star-Lord PVP, not for the season. This thread just seemed appropriate.

Regarding the ending times, all I can say is that I didn't choose a time slice and somehow found myself in one with only 30 minutes on the clock, shortly before I posted here. I therefore assumed that this must've been the final time slice of the event. If that was incorrect, then my question becomes "why was I entered into a random time slice without my knowledge?"
