the AI
I have a few simple suggestions regarding the enemy AI.
1) I've noticed several times that the enemy could have matched two intersecting 3-in-a-rows (resulting in a critical tile + extra turn), but instead it always goes for matching 4-in-a-row. Destroying a whole row can be good sometimes, but isn't getting an extra turn even better?
2) Storm (modern) should not use her red power if there are only 1 or 2 environmental tiles on the board.
3) I can't figure out any pattern to how the computer uses Moonstone's purple power. It almost seems like the computer just picks a random tile to teleport to. It should be used to destroy the enemy's special tiles. (also, this power does not match the written description, as it can effect both friendly and enemy special tiles)
4) As a rule-of-thumb, the computer should probably favor matching tiles near the bottom of the screen to increase the chances of chain reactions.
There are many more examples, but you get the idea.. I guess it could be frustrating to casual players if the AI gets too sophisticated, but I don't want it to be stupid either. It pains me to think how the computer is playing my teams in tournaments.

Without knowing the exact state of the board, you cannot say for certain a match 5 which doesn't destroy a row is better than a match 4. A match 4 gets you 8 tiles, while a match 5 often only returns 7 tiles (the M doesn't count as any AP). There are a lot of time where I make a match 5 and then you've an awkward situation of either having to use the M on two random tiles, or risk letting it sit there and watch the AI turn it into something horrific. Of course other times the M is matched immediately or you can turn it into another match 4, so I'd think match 5 is still better overall, but I've certainly seen cases where a match 5 is not the best move to make.0

Half the times the AI destroys the crit tile matching a row of 4 when it could deal 10 times the damage matching the critical.0

The best way would be to let the AI discover matching 5, but making it humanlike,so it regulaely even misses a chance of doing a 40
