Over the course of the hunt I managed to put an Ares together. I also got 20-30 standard tokens which became ISO for me because I already had the covers. If I were a newer player some of the 2 and 3* covers pulled might have been of use.

The 'poor' get a big boost to their stable of covers. The 'rich' get to chase one or two new covers. There is a reward for everyone in the event.

And for the original poster, if you don't put either time or money into the game why should you be competing for top prize?

As one of the early adopters I would say I am one of the "rich". I have every cover and I have most all of the 3* characters, except Patch, significantly leveled but not maxed. I don't compete for things I don't want at the top of leaderboards. I have all the Villain covers so I pick two or three Lightning Rounds to compete for the top prize because it is one of the best sources of grindable HP. I could do it for every Lightning Round but for the great majority I go to 250 and bail with around 1500 Iso earned. Leaving the top for those who need the covers. what does motivate me is the chance to win all three covers of a new character and ever since the release of IM40 that is the prize i really want and that is the one I go after. In The Hunt after four sets of sub-missions I had my 4/4/5 Ares and now I have just been farming the sub-missions for the iso and cover tokens. I am surprised at what a difference it makes when i am forced to grind one of the repeatables to get the 500iso/standard token because I keep getting 20Iso booby prizes. all of a sudden I am in the top 10. I haven't competed in the last two hours of any of the sub-missions since completing my Ares. For Rage and Ruin I got all three covers for Patch in the first round and for this round I am just playing for progression awards and will not compete for the Patch covers or shield up towards the end so that others have the chance. I don't think my attitude is the exception as there are many other players who I know from the early days on the leaderboards who are no longer at the top when i look so I think many of the "rich" are satisfied with their wealth and are not standing in the way of others trying to join us. I know I am.

Agreed 100%. Started on day 1 and have every cover maxed with the exception of patch, IW and X-Force. My only motivation is to get new characters when they come out, like you, and try to gain as much ISO as I can so I can max all my characters. I got my 3 covers for patch last round and I'm not even bothering with this round. If the punisher and hulk covers have taught us anything it's that with nerfs come a lot of chances to get new 3* covers. They basically handed out hulks and punishers in the last few weeks. Not to mention thors replacement ares. For people that are newer, the best advice I can give you is to just stick with it. When the game came out everyone was the same level yes, but that doesn't mean that you can't compete now. You just have to be patient. It took over a month before I was placing top 5 consistently. It may be a little longer now but you'll get there icon_e_smile.gif
  • Well if you don't have IW, there's a chance you prolly wouldn't be able to farm the lvl200 missions effectively anyways.

I think the rewards system has greatly improved from the beginning. 2-stars are much easier to get now it seems, which you should max before worrying about 3 or 4-star cards.

    Same here. This 100%

I'll just go ahead and agree with everybody above.
  • not really. the rich get nerfed. harder than anybody else thus far. i'm sitting here with max rag / bw / im40. the team is useless now. USELESS. it can't even beat a max out buffed ares sometimes, and it took about oh ... 2 months of tournaments / grinding to get.

so anyway, the last 2 weeks i've been trying to make up a B team of random **** heros that aren't on their nerf list, and getting rocked by people still using spiderman/magneto/buffed hero of the week.

i've come to the conclusion either way is pretty ****.
