Lightning rounds

Hey all,

Im new here but have been a long time lurker and do well in the game. sometimes I put an hour and a half into the lightning rounds and a full set of health packs to get top 8 for 2 special tokens and on two occasions have come 2nd getting three.

My pulls have been consistently bad. Arent these tokens supposed to be better than standard heroic or is it just flashy advertising!!

The odds for each token are visible (little question mark icon on the bottom right corner of each token page).

You should expect roughly a 1/6 chance of getting a 3* in most token sets I believe. The lone exception being Anniversary tokens which were roughly 2/5.

EDIT: Changed odds as per Ben Grimm's correction.
  • It is ridiculous to grind hard for 1.5 hours against xforce/thor teams only to get 2 WORTHLESS event tokens.

Let's spend our lunch break getting a worthless bullseye, capt marvel 2* token! yay! In my experience 1/3 would be a dream; reality is more like 1/10 if that.

Really hoping these upcoming game modes reward the time investment going forward.

Claiming that the lottery sucks after buying a lottery ticket and losing makes no sense to me. The human mind is a strange thing.
  • The time and effort is just wasted though and puts me off really going for it. I just thought the rewards would be a little more consistent is all. Tokens that are really gold with a lightning flash just makes me feel duped when I get a bullseye lol

Makes perfect sense to me. How can you critique something you haven't tried? Plus, how else are you supposed to get ahead in the game if you don't go for tokens?

After many attempts at getting 2 star.png Lightning tokens, I have deemed them not worth my time.

Progress rewards are where it's at. The leaderboards have gone insane. Too rich for my blood.

That's actually a good point, but the lottery (and MPQ tokens) are easy to calculate the actual expected value for. I can claim that you are expected to lose money in Vegas without ever actually going.

That said, I love Vegas. **** is the best.

The odds for a normal heroic are around 14% of getting a 3*, and about 2% of getting a 4*. Event tokens are slightly higher. Anniversary tokens were something like 40% of getting some sort of gold.

I just play lightening rounds for the first 100 points, and get the average 1,000 total iso for it.
