So the lightening rounds just ended. With 8 hour node refresh times i still have hours before i can play pve again. The only gameplay mode available is cat 5 pvp. Shield cooldowns have made it too expensive to start playing early, so i have to wait until tomorrow to start playing...

So how can I get my MPQ fix!?!?! I want to play, but have nothing to play...

I have seen numerous recommendations for new gameplay modes and i liked a few of them. One in particular was an ongoing gauntlet mode where rewards would refresh every week. That would allow players something to do in the downtime between node refresh and playing pvp events.

Or i guess i could always work while i am at work, but where is the fun in that?? icon_e_wink.gif

*note* i am not complaining about 8 hr refresh nodes, i love it icon_e_biggrin.gif just complaining about the lack of something to play, that is all icon_e_biggrin.gif

    I think it would help if they set up some sort of bridge content for between-seasons week that maybe didn't even pay out any set covers, just hp and iso and tokens, just for people who want more to do. Maybe run LRs all week, or something.

    really though hopefully Daily PVE start soon (doubt they wont start till next week though cause if they were to start soon they would of said something by now)

    HOPEFULLY new season new Pve (normal and daily) and new PVP all start sunday

    Ditto. I've been really bored. I haven't been on the forums lately and completely missed the reasoning behind the longer refresh times. But I have to say it sucks. What was wrong with the old ones? Now I have to sit around thumb twiddling for 8 hours. I basically get 2 45-minute PVE play sessions per day. And I usually don't PVP until it's almost over because there's no point with getting attacked and all that. So basically...I have to find another game to play while I wait to play this game? icon_rolleyes.gif

    It reduced the burnout amongst the optimizers while not really affecting the rest of the community. For those who are going to play when they are going to play, they just dont care about when the refreshes occur and it has minimal effect on them. Sounds kind of like you are one of those as you dont hit every refresh so just play as much as you have time for when you have time.

    I'm extremely excited that I get to play other games at night. During the last PvE I was putting in 3+ hours per night into MPQ, and I appreciate having options to do other things with my time.

    I wasn't one to hit every refresh right on time, no. But if I logged on and saw there was still a timer, I would wait for the hour or so for it to refresh. If I forgot and came back 2 hours later, oops. But I didn't care too much as long as I didn't still have a timer and felt like I was getting optimal points for my effort. And playing that way, I usually ended up top 50, so still a good reward, good enough for me. The only time I ever played with a timer still up was when the PVE was almost over and I was trying to cram in last minute points. So I think, okay, they made changes for the optimizers and this won't affect the casuals. But I think I fall somewhere in between and it seems like people like me got screwed.

    Oh sure dont get me wrong, i am really enjoying being able to have downtime, but when I want to play and there is nothing to do (except grind prologue icon_rolleyes.gif ), that sucks. I would just like to see something that isnt necessarily competitive or tied to alliance rank that i can jump in and play and have fun on my time vs having to play on MPQ time either through 8 hr refresh nodes or shield cooldowns.

    8 hour refresh is heavenly. I can sleep and work a job without difficulty now. That's a great feature for a game to have. But, I suspect it will take a little while for the community to re-adjust, and let withdrawal symptoms subside to this more relaxed pace.

    I think the point is "give us something to do, during our "off time.""

    As in........a new storyline chapter. Or something.

    I agree, 8-hour refresh is amazing. I placed 1st in the R&G PVE and won my final green x-force cover. What a nice change for people who have to go to school or work a full time job. We still have an opportunity to win top prizes AND live a life outside of MPQ. Some of yall need to chill and go do something else while you wait haha.
