I kind of like the tile explosion and the "grabby hand" thing - made me laugh the first time (okay maybe first several times - I like the stretchy arm thing) I saw it. I was impressed with the variety in the color palette they used for the explosion too.
I'd say my least favorite is Thor's Call the Storm. Ugly (though I guess iconic ^.^) icon and a cheap rain effect. Come on, I just wiped the enemy team and there's nothing more than a gentle rain? I also prefer the old Wolverine animations to the new ones.0 -
The animations are pretty cool imo, but the art itself is terrible. Looks like a Backstreet Boy game.0

Did anyone forget to mention Squirrel Girl?0

Starlord looks like Sean Astin with a gimpy right hand. (but I found the purple hand swipe animation to be humorous)
Squirrel girl looks like she has Down Syndrome.0 -

I've made that point about Call The Storm before. It should look like this.

I second this. The animations and sound fx are cool but who on earth does the art? The anatomy is terrible, even by comic book standards, or the art is just plain awful (cap marvel, anyone?). They got Frank Tieri and Alex Irvine to do the stories, you would think they would be able to retain the services of any number of great artists that work with Marvel.0 -
Maybe it has something to do with the art, but he's Starlord for Pete's sake. Zero use of blasters, we get a kitty paw swipe, a rehashed uppercut, with the funniest pose/ staredown before it. Ish, and I wish that mask pose was used along with some blaster action. Not done right at all. The blasters, what a let down, may as well put some toilet paper in those hands instead with a countdown to Wipe the whole team.0

But he's so shiny! Market research shows shininess means you can't criticize!Hulk11 wrote:Maybe it has something to do with the art, but he's Starlord for Pete's sake. You can really tell they did their research and planned this character. Totally not a sucky 4* or anything, amirite?0 -
I'm going to go against the grain here and cast a vote for Punisher's Judgment. The machine gun is cool enough, but what is that thing he pulls out at the end?! It's like a 7 year-old's idea of a tough-guy-super-bazooka-gun! It has so many weird protrusions and flaps and doohickeys hanging off of it. I don't understand it.
While I'm at it, I'd also like to quote an alliance mate who said: "The Punisher is a bad-**** vigilante who kills criminals with big guns. Why the tinykitty is he wearing bright white go-go boots?" Why, indeed?0 -
The art that gives me the chills is the creepy Captain Marvel smirk and the awful horrible Squirrel Girl
I dont like the lazy animations, like Thor green, just the hammer and the hmm soothing rain?
MNMags red with the rainbow explosion
the Miss Marvel yellow one, in Cap Marvel made sense and for Ms Marvel it seemed they didnt want to bother with a new one
The best are by far Elektra red and pink, followed by Star Lord yellow and the explosion effect from his pink0 -
I can't decide if I want to vote Falcon's Inspiration as the best or the worse. Getting a chain of yellows make me want to laugh and cry at the same time.0

The worst animation is the longest one. Honestly, the shorter they are the better. I wish I could turn them off entirely. The whole game feels super laggy, especially if you are playing with/against a character that heals after every turn. The new NPC animations are good for new players, but they irritate the heck out of me.0

I agree with everyone stating "Call of Storm" needs more epic.

I can think of many that I think are worse than Starlords animations.
Moonstone black and purple are both lame
Black widow's agressive recon, it looks like a bad dance move
Thor - as everyone else has stated it completely lacks in awesomeness
Sentry - Supernova is like a bad Superman pose. I think all of his are poorly drawn.
Ares - Sunder is call of storm style boring, but his other two are some of my faves.
Beast - Lets just say his animations are as bad as his powers.0 -
Kitty paw, instant lame factor. I think they were going with the funny factor, but if that's the case just do a silly squirrel girl scenario again. Lack of blasters. That's like taking the whip from Indiana jones and blaster from han solo. The funny factor just isn't here. Dunno if they watched the movie even lol. Strange but it may be possible. At least put in a dance move if you want funny. How hard is that animation to cook up?0

a friend of mine saw me playing mpq and commented that it looked like a game made in the 90's. he noted that it lacks a level of graphical fit and finish that most games of its caliber possess.0
