What team do you like to leave on PVP 'Defense'?

Since the last characters you played with will be the ones that your attacker's face, who do you like to leave on defense and why?

There are definitely certain characters that perform worse when controlled by the AI (anyone with a power that targets cells you select) who make poor defenders. The strategy for a defending team can be a little different too, since you won't be carrying damage into the next match... self-damaging powers aren't nearly as costly for defenders as for attackers. Spammy characters, like a Hulk with maxed black covers, are always useful too.

Probably the biggest advantage the attacking team has, apart from being able to strategically choose matches and target powers, is that they can choose what character to apply damage to and quickly remove them from the equation. Consequently, teams that require synergy to function effectively are no good on defense (case in point, 2* Magneto and 2* Storm). With this in mind, a defense team that can function well without any one member helps even the playing field.

Another aspect of defense is picking a team that dissuades people from actually taking your team on... we've all seen those "nope" matches come up that we immediately skip. What teams make you want to avoid the fight and why?

Ideally, you'd want a team that most people would skip but stood a good chance of surviving despite the **** AI decision process. Who do you like to use?

I try and go for three things on defense:

Rainbow coverage - I want all matches the AI makes to output as much damage as possible.

Team damaging powers - If I have multiple heroes that will potentially damage all opponents, I'm guessing someone climbing and trying to conserve health will not want to deal with that.

High health - The longer my guys linger, the more damage they can dish out; thus more discouraging.

Black Panther is one of my favorite defenders.

I leave 166 Black Panther and 166 hulk alongside whatever the feature character is. If the feature is Thor or Patch I remove hulk and add Loki or Falcon. If I had a good LDaken he would be a prime choice too!! Xforce is great but is easily beaten on the attack.
