It's been awhile since we ranked the color powers. Last I rembered it was green/red/yellow/black/blue/purple but since then we have added quite a few characters and purple and blue have been inching their way up. I won't waste time listing skills that use colors, but thought I wouuld see what people think.

I think it's probably Green/Black/Red, in that order, followed by Yellow/Purple/Blue. We've gotten enough good purple powers now that I think it's passed up blue, and arguably yellow.0
-
Top 2 are incredibly easy.
1. Green
2. Black
You may have them flipped, but those are the two strongest colors in the game.
After that, there is some debate.
Do you put blue at 3 because of power surge, demolition and Magnetic Projectiles?
Or Red because of Smite, A little off the top, TBTI, Star Spangled Banner and Polarizing Force?
Or even Yellow because of Sacrifice, Twin Pistols, Thunder Strike, Avengers Assemble and Battleplan?
I went with yellow at 3 because Twin Pistols can really ruin a game and Thunder Strike leads into one of the most deadly abilities in the 3 star range.
But, gun to my head, I'd still say the third color I fear most, just because of one ability, is blue. Power Surge is just so incredibly powerful. If you let the enemy team get 3 blue matches, you almost definitely lost. Or are taking heavy damage.0 -
before X-Force I know it was green/yellow/red or green/red/yellow As you had Thor, Sentry, Hood, Patch, C.Mags (pre-nerf) Once X-Force hit obviously things changed
I just too the top 10 characters from the character comp sheet and then the top skills from those
Surgical Strike, Rage of the Panther, Nightstalker
Power Surge, Demolition, Chemical Reaction, Peacemaker, Magnetized Projectile
X-Force, Call of the Storm
Escape Plan, Keep Your Enemies Closer
Smite, Star Spangled Avenger, Polarizing Force
Thunder Strike, Avengers Assemble, Battleplan, Twin Pistols
From those you can see blue has the largest representation and Green and Purple the smallest0 -

while I think you are right on the top 3 I personally think it's green/black/blue. Power doesn't necessarily equate to damage, but blue is highly represented amongst the top tier characters0 -
Hmm, maybe throw in Luke Cage Unbreakable and Juggs Headbutt for Red too, while the latter is really only powerful when he's uber buffed for BoP, it's pretty much a must-have for that event at least no? And Unbreakable is Cage's best ability and not a damage ability either, so good, mmmmm.
EDIT: And Loki Mischief to Green, that definitely has some staying power at the top these days.0 -

Right, but what if you then RANK those abilities.0 -
So... what is the voting criteria? I'm having a hard time ranking the colors because trying to do something like averaging out the best abilities doesn't make sense since my Phantron hat is on, and everything is irrelevant besides XF / LadyThor meaning that their abilities get infinity points compared to everyone else. Therefore, the best colors are simply their most powerful skills: blue -> red -> black -> green.0

If you're talking the 4* game, sure. But very few people are playing that game. Without Power Surge and Demolition, Magnetized Projectile is the only truly top-tier ability. Peacemaker and Chemical Reaction are both good, but Peacemaker is slow (and I vastly prefer his red) and Chemical Reaction is more of a finishing move unless you're generating a ludicrous number of strike tiles.0 -
Number one is . Spidey makes a and GSBW places 6 creating 2-3 and readies her sniper rifle.0

The criteria is whatever you want. It's your opinion of what the current most powerful colors are, whether you take in to account all the characters or just the top.0 -
I'd like to see two polls. One for active powers and one for passive.0
-
Hard to say. I went with for what colours I have the most players with strong damage-dealing abilities, and since I usually have red, green and black on the team easily, then "cast" someone else to fill the remaining colours...
(exception for Thorette of course, who plays blue - however, more a supporting ability, however strong, so I didn't really count it, as is Fury's and Rocket/Groot's blue to me, which only leaves Magneto with a directly offensive blue)0 -
My ranking is
I actually put blue above black, because while SS is pretty much game over, blue actually has mutliple other powers you really don't want happening. Power surge, demoliton, even mag translocation.
Even with them adding a bunch more purple powers, it's still the bottom of the rankings, It's always hard to find a good purple filler for a rainbow. Ditto yellow, despite both x-force AND FT having yellow powers, neither are great, and it's hard to choose a good stand alone 3rd to fill the slot. Especially since you can't use both thors0 -
I like throwing in Fury.0

Green
Black
Red
It was down to Red or Blue for 3rd. And between those two colours, I'm more often trying to match/deny Red than Blue.0 -
Very interesting how black and yellow have swapped power spots. Obviously X-Force plays a huge part in this, but also because I think Black Panther became more relevant when Battleplan got fixed. I think 4hor's Smite has kept red in top 3, interesting that blue is behind yellow though.
When Thor and Sentry were king the Green/yellow/red made sense but I'm very suprised blue isn't up there since you have Fury/4hor/CMags/Daken/Captain America that all use it and are high tier characters.0 -
All those characters might use Blue but none of those characters are XF, which puts Green/Black on top. I put Red over Blue because on 3 of those characters you listed I use their red power more than their blue power, but if I could have voted for 4 colors it would have been Blue (not yellow).0

I wonder if green/black are the top colors simply because those are X Force's colors, and if not, he's still the guy with pretty much the best moves in the two strongest colors in the game!
Even without X Force, black and green has a lot more backup options compared to the rest, especially if we throw out Dormammu's Aid for being a passive (it's blue but there's obviously no relationship between Dormammu's Aid and the ability to collect blue AP). Blue is in a weird place. It always seems to have one top tier skill and then nothing after in the history of MPQ. Fury is quite good, but he's probably out of reach for most people and for those who can get him, you could just get X Force or Thor instead.0 -

Are you kidding? Thunder Strike is probably Thor's best power.0
