You're post is quite incorrect I'm afraid. IW is by no means next in line. She has already had her "buff". Thor is next to become obsolete.

Loki was nerfed a long time ago. He used to have a forest fire-like ability and was one of the strongest characters in the game at the time. His more recent change had some ups and downs. Instead of changing the colors of random tiles, he now has tiles change places. Supposedly, there are more cascades that way, but not always. So you don't know if you are really going to shake up the board or not.

Magneto (classic) is also getting nerfed more than likely. Although, we don't know the extent of those changes yet. I think nerfed is only really applicable if the character is changed to a point where they aren't useful anymore. It gets tossed around for any negative change to a character, but that's not really fair. That said, I would bet Magneto's changes will be drastic considering his current state and previous changes.

Loki was nerfed a loong time ago. He had a purple power that acted like forest fire. Then they changed it to a tile switcher which was horribly useless, then they improved it a tad.

It was so early in the game that not many people even had him to be upset about it.

If the game slows down more and more and strike and defense tiles become more common, Loki could actually be useful. Considering the current pace of changes going live, this could be in just about 6 months or so.

That was a bug-fix though. Half the buffed lists are just bug fixes. Same for Thor and X-Force Wolverine.

I'd personally consider the Venom changes not sure. His damage for black was buffed, but the devour nerfed.

Also, Venom wasn't put on steriods. He was nerfed or at least ambigous. He lost the ability to down the entire opposing team, which was what he was good for, although it wasn't too easy to do. Hawkeye classic was a definite improvement, although it doesn't exactly make him a great character. Thor Modern was more of a bug fix than anything. Same with Iron Man 40.

On a side note, just because characters are improved, it doesn't mean it is good for everyone. Not everyone collects every character, so an improvement can still be bad for people who were selling off those covers. I'm not saying there should be no balancing, and I think the improvements have largely been fair. I guess what I'm saying is that I fear change. Seriously, though, balancing in either direction has the chance to change the game for the better or for the worse, and it will always piss someone off. Hopefully, as time goes on, the changes will be less drastic, but there will be instability for a little while still. Good luck devs.

I doubt Thor is getting nerfed. If anything, his abilities will probably be adjusted to be more unique. I can't see how he's more powerful than Ares. It seems that Ares has more damage potential.

I kinda like how he builds from one power to the next. BWGS is the only onther one I can think of that does that well. While variety is cool, I don't think you need it within a character's ability set all the time. Having broad abilities and more focus abilities makes for more diversity of characters. In any case, when you compare Thor and Rag, it looks like Thor is going to have to be adjusted significantly. I guess we'll see soon enough. As for Ares, he's powerful, but has the self inflicted damage drawback. That's a trait that they are putting in the newer characters. It will probably be a little while before they know how well the trade works, especially if Spiderman's heal is nerfed.
