Terminology

I know this is going to sound ridiculous, but please cut me some slack. I was wondering if someone wouldn't mind explaining the "Terminology" used in the Forum. Such as "Grinding" etc... There are some things I just don't understand not only on here but also on Facebook.
I would greatly appreciate it. I'm new to the forum and have been reading a lot of posts so as to learn more about the game and to also find answers to questions I have and things not covered in the instructions and FAQ.

Basically whenever game play become repetitive for little perceived reward, but necessary for some big reward (eg new characters covers) people call it grinding.

Also, this forum thread has a lot of the common terminology.
