If there is no solution to Vaulting, at least..

increase the number of characters rotated every season.

Each season is typically 4 weeks long, and with a new character every two weeks, we have 2 new characters every season added to the mix. So for upcoming seasonXI, 2 new characters are added, and a whopping grand total of TWO old characters get rotated out. 2 out of a vault population of 12. Does this mean a character vaulted in can expect to stay there for at least 6 seasons(=6months)? And as the vault population grows, the rate is just going to get laughably poor.

Vaulting is just a very poor idea to start with. And if for some reason the developers still persist in it, at least try to make it not so bad? Why not increase the number of characters rotated, if at least 5 or 6 old characters get rotated out every season, there's a good chance any one character will not stay in Vaultown for more than 2 seasons max.

There is still time, pls free Daken and Panther for seasonXI, they are fine as they are and certainly do not require "working on out of the spotlight". Invisible Woman is the one that really needs some working on, with or without spotlight, don't treat her as.. er.. invisible!!

    Just wanted to say I totally agree about Invisible Woman. She needs the "X-Force" treatment.

    if their intention is to keep the number of 3*s in the rotation at 20, then they will have to vault more and more 3*s each rotation as the number of characters increases which is what makes vaulting so ludicrous as more time passes. its clear that the primary intent of vaulting is not to fix characters not in the spotlight (they can hotfix any character anytime they choose as has already been seen) but to reduce the overall odds of pulling golds from gold tokens. this also has the secondary impact of coercing the player to open more and more roster slots hoping to improve a character which may be currently undercovered but they have hope to improve several months down the road but during which time you will be trying to obtain the new hot thing (squirrel girl, bleechh), usually for pve essential purposes.

    it is a very cynical carrot/stick game d3 is playing. i can only hope they address the issues of vaulting and more particularly roster slot and roster slot pricing in the very near future. as someone who has put a fair amount of cash into the game (with no regrets to this point, i do enjoy the game and play more than i should), i am quickly approaching the point where i would feel like a complete fool to do so again.

    For me the solution is obvious,though its possible that i just dont see the issue it might have. They should make 2 seperate pack. For example 2 heroic type. One has the currently active characters the other the vaulted, or something similar. So you can choose which one you want to use your token on or which do you want to buy. This way the chance to get a single cover for a character would not increase nor decrease

    The odds of pulling any 3* seem to be getting lower and lower (my srt 3*+ % has dropped about .2% (10% relative) over the course of the last 5 months). More and more people seem to be hitting the 10x 2* season 10-pack "jackpot."

    There are currently 20x 3* and 5x 4* in packs. There should probably be about 25x 3* available with a 1% drop rate and (however many 4* you want with a total of 5% drop). 30% 3*+ drop rate from heroic and dilute that down by 90% for srt (3%). If there is a concern about token hoarding have heroic tokens expire at the start of a new season (season reward tokens can be used in either season).

    10 packs should have their odds boosted by 33% (40% overall draw) and rather than getting 2 bonus covers, boost the 40 pack to a 50% rate. 40 packs cost over $50 and give almost no benefit over buying 10 packs. I think people would be more willing to splurge during hp sales if they thought they could get roughly 20 random 3/4* covers for $50 (20 random 3-4* might be a lot more appealing than 5 chosen 4* or 10 chosen 3* for some players).

    I'd like to see the data on how much hp was spent during the anniversary week when the packs had fantastic odds vs the average spent pre and post vaulting.
